Internet Marketing - Dirty Secret !

I won't introduce myself because most of you already know me.
Well, one thing I would like to share with all of you today is a "dirty little secret" that most people dont want you to know.
If you have been in IM you might have noticed that there are two levels in IM, total newbies and then the experienced IM's.
There is another section that I would say in caught in between the two. Most of these people have megabytes or even gigabytes of expensive IM products that are really great.
Very few of these marketeers actually earn any money - why?
---------------->>>>>> DISTRACTION!
Just when they want to concentrate on the IM course, software or ebook they just bought another "URGENT" email comes in and this time the product being promoted promises to 'reveal the best kept IM secret"!
What do you expect? This IM will now jump and buy the product and start "taking action"....guess what happens next...another email and this one promises to deliver "results or money back"...so the IM thinks to himself...ah well, let me try it out, afterall I can always get my money back..lol..
This cycle continues and within a few months the hard drive is full of great content that has never been used!
IM wake up! All these programs are basically the same but simply branded differently. Any IM should already know that this industry is surrounded by alot of hype.

So what is the secret to success?

Mine is the UNSUBSCRIBE BUTTON. yes...you might find it weird but it works.

I only visit forums and get ideas. I bought one system and am still following it to this day. Others who bought the same program before me haven't made a cent because of the distraction.
IM tools(I use a few of these) are great but you dont need to buy everything, do some research and you will find alot of free stuff but make sure you actually "take action" otherwise you wont get anywhere

My fellow warriors I encourage you to "stay focussed" - avoid distraction if you want to succeed at this.

    Hi Zenji,

True stuff. Get rid of distraction by establishing direction. When hopping around between programs you can't establish a sense of consistency. This creates chaos in the mind. A divided mind is powerless.

I agree with most of what was said. In the first place before anyone purchases any system I suggest they should avoid the hype and hold off and review the different systems before settling for the one that really resonates with them. Then it would be worth paying for coaching and mentoring to increase the chances of sucess.

I have fallen foul of the hype and spent too much money and been distracted. I have learnt a lot and I can put all my expenses down to education, but now, no more buying products, it is time for me to take action and apply what I have.

Focus on one system that is working for others now and stick with it until it works and frees up my time to focus on another strategy and income pillar.

Yup, distraction is a plague in this industry. That's why
it is essential to focus on one thing at a time.

Alot of people talk about focus but you have to admit that it is easier said than done. In what ways can people focus better. Meditation, Binaural beats, Deep breathing or as the Nike slogan says Just Do IT! Thanks zenji.

One thing is important to note that how fast you apply an idea to test its productivity. Jumping from one system to another before fully exploiting the first is not at all good. you need to create a synergy among all of your ideas. All of your ideas weather new or old must work in harmony if put together to drive you toward your goal. Means, you need to know which ideas are in harmony with each other and which may set you out of tune.

That's very true - I found myself in situation that I start sth, and then jump to another topic in week or so - one of the reasons is that everythign distracts me

I totally agree, jumping around is the biggest distraction, and biggest time waster that is out there. I learned that the hard way, and recently my main focus is on working and getting **** done. Less about learning, more about doing.

I didn't see anything wrong with making a few of the purchases as a newbie, to get a feel for what really works in the IM industry. If you approach it as a learning exercise, select those products that you determine are legitimate, and then focus on making those work for you, it's all good.

Totally agree! Follow one system, say no to distraction. There are too many strategies, system and methods going around online. Every one of them, promises good returns. And every one of them works if given enough time and effort.

Focus on one system to make it work. It's absolutely true!

Zenji excellent insight! I concur with you. People should take action and learn as they go. Most beginners do not need every internet course to start earning money online.

    zenji,

I totally agree with you - I believe the situation that you are describing is part of the early IMer's reality, no matter what. Now realizing it and committing to stop this unproductive behavior the earlier possible takes time, courage and... patience.

Thanks for sharing this tip I'm sure that it'll help tremendously more people who are jumping on the IM wagon!

I completely agree, when you first start out in the internet marketing field most people tend to focus too much on different methods that they end up not making any money instead they spend money and get nowhere, become frustrated and broke and eventually give up. My advice, focus on one aspect of internet marketing and focus on one niche. Promote it using various methods and eventually you will modify your method until it becomes effective.

Wow, This is a reoccurring theme for me today. I think someone is trying to tell me something.

It's hard when someone like myself doesn't have the habit of focus, its hard to get the mind to do so.

I am trying to build this habit everyday by lists of goals and reminders and doing my best to stay focused.

    Thank you for the reminder.

I completely agree with this -- sometimes I feel like I have ADD when I keep jumping from one thing to the next. Now, however, I have been learning and starting to settle down a little bit more ... or could be because I'm just getting older
