Do you have a strategy for motivation?

Most of us live our entire lives, never really taking control of the one thing that can create any kind of success, on any level in our experience, our brains! I've studied a lot about human psychology and I've come across, and noticed some pretty interesting things. One, (I'm not the first one to say this) we live our lives by syntax. (Order and Sequence) We operate by the order and sequence of mental and physiological events. If you trace any feeling back to it's root, you will find that you have to go through a series of things to get to the end result, the feeling. The series of things you did is what I call your strategy.

For example: To get angry, what do you have to do?

1.Try to do something. Maybe it's physical, you're trying to put together a table, maybe it's communicational, you're trying to get a point across and it's not happening the way you want it to happen.

2. You think certain thoughts, in a certain order, in an internal dialog. At this point, you're literally talking to yourself in your head. Most people are unconscious of their inner dialogs but they're there!

3. If you're like most human beings, you will have actual mental images. I've identified, for example, that if I start to get frustrated, I actually see myself with my face turning red. Since I've become pretty aware of my own head, I have rerouted those tendencies, or changed my own conditioning.

4. From those things that happen above, you may get a sensation in your body, a tense, or something similar.

There can be many steps in a persons strategy to get an end result and it all happens so fast, most people have no idea about it! Until you bring these things into your awareness, you remain kind of ineffective! (Unless your strategies get you great results, which happens for some unconsciously)

How can we create a strategy for motivation? Well, step number 1 is the awareness that you can. Step number 2 is to begin the syntactic mind body events. Step 3, check your results! Play with it, create for yourself a mental and physical strategy for motivation. One of the main reasons people aren't motivated to take the actions to get what they want out of life, is they simply don't have a known system, to control their own brains! Thanks for reading, I hope you can use this. Know it not just intellectually, but make it yours, apply it and know it personally!

Live with Power!

Good post Ryan. We have to catch ourselves and notice what is happening inside.

Twenty years ago Anthony Robbins came out with a set of about a dozen cassette tapes (remember those things), and one the tapes in the set was about this very same topic.

It was fascinating to go through the process to figure out the patterns in my thought process, and start to recognize my triggers along with the sequence that followed in my mind.

Only then could I change it.

Wasn't that also part of RET - rational emotive therapy (also called cognitive therapy)?

You got it! Isn't it great! Originally, strategies like this were created by a linguist, and a computer scientist who modeled human excellence and created these patterns (also known as Neuro Linguistic Programming) which was popularized by Robbins in the early 80's and was the basis of most of his early work, still is!

It's an extraordinary thing. It's as if in 400 years, when we're more effective as human beings, we'll all inherently know this!

    to be motivated:
I usually build up a destitute condition. one example is by setting aside a small % of my income from last week income for daily usage and deposit the rest to a restricted bank account. i will not touch single penny at all from this account for any reason. So, i will not have any money at all if i am not making money this week
