How Do You Usually Take Your Important Decisions

What steps do you follow in order to make a good decision?

I usually:

1. Think about the BEST/ WORST thing that will happen if I TAKE/ DON' T TAKE that certain decision.

2. Ask the advice of my friends/ family

3. Research the topic the decision is related to

4. Pray for divine guidance

When did you take wrong decisions, what was the reason?

I make wrong decisions when I don't wait to gather all the information or I don't follow what I know it's right to do.

Your present life status (good/poor) is the result of important decisions you made earlier. As we age our priorities also changes and my observation is telling me that age 15-25 is the decision stage age on which your whole life revolves. On a majority basis those who made smart decisions and acted accordingly during these the age of 15-25 became successful and happy too. Anyway, most of us may have passed that age but still any important decision may show up in your life at any age or period and the best way is: a. Investing time to think clearly on the choices; b. Recalling past events and associating the present choice with past choices; c. Asking for divine help if you're a believer; D.Outcome analysis in terms of health, wealth, family; E. What if no decision is made at all.

First I step away from the situation if the situation allows me to. If the decision must be made at that moment I stick with my gut. If my gut is wrong then I do what I need to do to fix it.

But if the situation can be stepped away from for a minute I do and I also way the pros and cons.

I think the biggest part of making a decision is not making the decision but following through with your decision.

I think "following through with your decision" is the fear factor that causes confusion at the first place of making a decision and if someone steps-out and makes decision and stumbles against odds then he/she procrastinate; postpone; or even quit the going.

    I am #4 on your list #1.

I start with divine guidance by listening to my intuition. I go into quiet, ask a question and wait for the answer to reveal itself. It takes practice to silence the chatter of the ego but it's worth it.

If I were to ask a person they would need to be 100% in harmony with my goals. Even then I wouldn't take any one person's word as the end all be all since the Perfect Guide awaits for me in the realm of silence.

It all depends if it is a major or minor decision.

Interesting that you pose the major/minor debate.

We create our own separate little realities. What's life-changing to me might mean little to you.

This is why I move away from labels when making decisions; it creates added, unnecessary pressure which promotes anxiety during the decision-making process.

      Two steps:

      1. is the most likely result worth doing this?

      2. can I live with the worst that can happen?

The "best" that can happen is irrelevant to me when making a decision - if it's worth doing and the worst that can happen is manageable, it's a go.

On rare occasion when the final result is the "best" that can happen - it's a pleasant surprise.

      maddiet, it's #1 for me...

Wrong decisions... only when I listened to someone else.
I don't make wrong decisions. Even if sometimes seems like I do - at the end it appears to be 'for the best'.
Whichever way I go it's always 'good luck'. Perhaps I am just LUCKY

I study it out in my mind first, When my thoughts match my heart with a good feeling, I act upon it. If there is confusion during the thinking process, its not the right path or decision to take.

For me important decisions just happen when I am motivated. I usually make wrong decisions when I am not motivated enough about life work and anything else that matters at that time.

I personally take a lot of time to make my decisions. I think sometimes being spontaenous doesnt really work. So if you just take a deep breath and look back at the whole situation you can really find the best decision for you!

the only and only step i always follow is I ask my self if it is totally logic and nothing relates it to just dreams. I mean if it is very logic that that thing can be done in a clear way then it is a very good signal that it can be chased!

When it comes to little decisions, I just flip a coin (head is usually "yes").

When it comes to huge decisions, I write pros and cons on a paper and takes the more rational one.
