I have recently moved to Cuenca, Ecuador. The town of Vilcabamba is not very far from here and I want to tell you that the average life expectancy for the people that live there is 106. This area is in the high Andes Mountains and there are volcanos all around in Ecuador. I believe that the water which is rich in minerals is probably the main factor in the good health of the residents.

If we look into the history in olden days the expectancy of life was about 200 years and nowadays in city life due to pollution of air and in food also due to pesticides used in farming the purity of food are in question and thats a reason for diseases and the place you had mentioned is a natural place for good health with pure air with oxygen content and water mineral in nature.

I used to live on an island in the Caribbean and the air is so crisp and clean there, it was unbelievable. Of course it took until I moved to the U.S. to truly appreciate what I had there.

Those 100-year-old people have likely never owned more than one set of clothing at a time. And Alexander the Great, one of the greatest kings in history, was dead at 33.
