How Much Influence Do You Have?

Most of the people in this forum would probably agree that our success depends on our own actions.

I'm listening to the audiobook version of "Influencer: The Power to Change Anything" by Kerry Peterson et al.. So far, the book seems to be about identifying the "vital behaviors" that have the greatest influence in your own life, and the lives of others.

Check it out!

I agree that to be a pro marketer you got to have an influential behavior and got to be able to have an effect, through your sales copy, video's and so on, on other peoples life...
Your doing well to study that material, well done

IM is all about influence and trust. For example, when someone asks if he can buy a list, you instantly know he has no clue about IM...

Yes you are right, our success depends greatly on our own actions.

However, many times our success is dependent on GUIDANCE. Do you agree?

Your success earlier in life depended on all the people that helped to mould you. Your parents, your teachers, and what have you

      Absolutely.

The book acknowledges 3 key influences on our behavior:
1- our own values and abilities
2- the people around us (family, friends, etc...)
3 -the environment (workspaces, tools, etc...)

The synergy between these 3 influences either helps or hinders us, and we can tweak whichever area is the weak link.

In my case, I am not really a marketer as much as a content producer. Joining a community of IMers helped me to look at my content from a marketers point of view. So, what would have been just a clump of data, I can now see as an article, a newsletter, a one time offer, an upsell or downsell, whatever.

But in lots of cases ,1 is result of 2 and 3.
