NLP can definitely help you with internet marketing. Not only at the interpersonal level - where you can use NLP to become more effective at moving your visitors to action, but also at the intrapersonal level, where you can use NLP to become more effective at moving yourself toward focused action.

Persuasion Engineering is a great book, and it is a transcript of a seminar presented by Richard Bandler. As such, you will not pick up the book and find a step-by-step, nuts and bolts, do this then that system in Persuasion Engineering. It IS there, but not immediately available to those without an understanding of how Richard does what he does when he teaches. By all means get it, you won't regret it, but you will appreciate it so much more a little way down the road.

I usually refer my clients who want to begin exploring NLP to "Unlimited Power" by Anthony Robbins, ISBN: 0684845776.

If you want to explore NLP in the context of selling, I recommend Beyond Selling by Bagley and Reese, ISBN: 0916990192.
