My favorite inspirational quote is from Zig Zigler.

"Don't let anyone else kick your dog!"

Some of you might be to young to know who Zig Zigler was, (yes, that's a real name).

He was a great motivational speaker from a place called Yazu, Mississippi. If you want, you don't have to read further than the end of this sentence, but here is the story behind the quote.

"One day you wake in the morning feeling great! You know that it's going to be one of those amazing days. You eat breakfast and head out the door to go to work. Just before you completely make it outside, your dog / best friend comes up to happily say hello and goodbye. You give him or her a loving pat on the head and head out.

As you drive to work you notice that everyone is so polite on the road and traffic is wonderful. You arrive at work, and even your favorite parking spot is available.

You get to your office or cubical or where ever you call your base of operations and sit down to get started. But, before you can even get going good, your boss or supervisor is suddenly 2 inches from your face yelling at you about something.

By the time he or she is finished your so upset and mad that you are ready to just say f*%k it, I'm walking out of here. But you some how manage to stay the whole day.

You almost tear the time clock of the wall punching out. and you burn rubber out of the parking lot. Now, your on the freeway, and just like you knew it would be... It has about a Zillion cars on it. And nobody's playing nice.

As you race home, you can't help thinking about your boss/supervisor. You ask yourself, "What the hell was up with him or her? What did I do wrong?."

You finally make it home and you jump out of your car and head for the front door. You almost break off the key in the lock of the door attempting to open it. You finally have the door open and you walk in.

Just then you hear a noise. You turn around, and it's your best friend trying to jump up to greet you and say welcome home. That's the last straw. You push off your dog yelling "Down". And you kick him!

Your dog gives out a painful yelp, and runs off. Now you feel like dirt because you know that there was no real reason to do that. It takes you almost two hours to get your dog from out from underneath the bed, and you apologize while slowly stroking his or her's fur.

The next day you find yourself busy at work, and you see your boss or supervisor heading in your direction. You shake your head and think to yourself, "Oh no, here we go again", and you prepare yourself for a fight.

Then something weird happens. Your boss or supervisor puts a hand on top or your shoulder and says, "I'm so, so sorry for yesterday. You see the general manager got in trouble for something, and then she yelled at department head for something. And then he got all over my case for something, and I guess, I kind of took it out on YOU!"

I would say that he has a rather limited and uncreative way of looking at the situation. Look, you want to know if I understand that this is a mental hospital? Yes, I understand that. But, then how can I say that you are Don Octavio and I am a guest at your villa? Correct?

By seeing beyond what is visible to the eye. Now there are those, of course, who do not share my perceptions, it's true. When I say that all my woman are dazzling beauties, they object. The nose of this one is too large; the-the hips of another, they are too wide; perhaps the breasts of a third, they are too small. But I see these women for how they truly are... glorious, radiant, spectacular, and perfect, because, I am not limited by my eyesight. Women react to me the way that they do, Don Octavio, because they sense that I search out the beauty that dwells within until it overwhelms everything else. And then they cannot avoid their desire, to release that beauty and envelope me in it. So, to answer your question, I see as clear as day that this great edifice in which we find ourselves is your villa. It is your home.
