The Number 1 enemy to success

What is the number 1 enemy to success. Now everyone have their definition of success and everyone will love to be a success but what is the number 1 enemy to success.

The question should not be what but actually who is the number 1 enemy to success.

And the answer is you!!! That's right it is you and me. We are our own worst enemies. Most of the time, the enemy is the inner me. We are the number 1 enemy of success.

We don't achieve what we want and we are quick to blame the economy, our neighbor, our parents, everybody except ourselves.

If we will learn to take responsibility for our life and stop playing the blame game, we will realize that we are the number 1 enemy to success and if we will swallow our pride and ask for help when we need it or change our game plan when it needs changing we will become a success.

Stop blaming external circumstances and start looking at the man in the mirror and tell him that he is responsible for your success and no one else!!!

    Yes I agree

What you are describing is the locus of control. In simple terms we blame events in our life on external factors instead of shifting towards an internal locus of control and taking responsibility for them or if controllable respond positively to them and not waste energy on factors that are beyond our control.

Great Post! The Number 1 enemy to our success is us! It is all between our ears. It is mental. It is not external outside forces.

Your absolutely right, I had to take that journey of self discovery myself - there are some very interesting books on this. Personally, I recommend reading up on CBT, Hypnosis and NLP to anyone interested in success of any kind but has been unable to reach their objectives.

Totally agree with you. What's the saying," If you think you can or you think you can't." You're right.

Integrity is the most important--and most commonly shared--character trait of the
    truly successful.
Without Integrity, one's Vision is faulty, so one's goals are misguided, and even
"success" in the venture fails to enrich life and increase peace.

Absolutely Justin. My husband and I are dealing with that right now. We're both making great forward motion on both our home businesses, and he's probably going to be able to come home full time next year because of it.

We have worked our tails off to get around and over the many speedbumps we have laid in our own paths, and have overcome a lot of the mental problems we had. We did it by ourselves (with the help of some success books,) and never blamed anyone else for any problem we ever encountered (even though let's face it, outside forces sometimes don't help anything!)

And what are we getting in return? "Friends," co-workers, and FAMILY who are now attacking us and our dreams and trying to tear us down. As soon as success was in sight, it was like the vipers came out of the woodwork! They are trying to convince us that nothing will come of our plans, and that we need to just be happy with a "normal" life.

Fear of failure and fear of success are vicious adversaries, and they can crawl back into your psyche no matter what point you are at. So even once you're seeing success, you still have to keep your guard up.

It's truly sad to have to tell friends and family that if they can't keep their negativity to themselves, they just shouldn't talk to you anymore. It's harsh, and it hurts (especially with family,) but in circumstances like these you have to steel your mind and choose your happiness over their opinions.

      My two cents.

    Excellent sharing.

We are always the problem even if we didn't start it.
Because, if a problem was started by somebody else...we would either choose to walk away or face it ourselves. Anyways, eveything in life is about learning. We were not born perfect. So, as another saying goes = 'When the going gets tough, the tough get going.' What we think, we become.

    regards,

    Shawn.

99.99% of the reason I am not as successful as I would like to be is my own fault. Mainly it is procrastination and getting down on myself. Actually, 100% of the reason is my own fault. No doubt.

    I can't disagree with that.

You, or more specifically the thoughts and feelings you choose. Your thoughts control your destiny.
