Is It Ever Too Late To Succeed?

The other day I was talking to my cousin.
I was asking him if he wanted to start
yoga..instantly he responded, "Im too old,
my body is too stiff."

It is funny of course because yoga helps a
lot with body stiffness.

It made me wonder though, is it ever too late
to start something?

Should people not start an online business if they
are 70 years old? Or not start learning a new
language at 80?

Is it ever right to say, "well, im too old to do that."?

Hopefully everyone already knows that the categorical answer is, clearly, NO, never too late. There are dozens of common examples, but check this lady out:

its not the body age.. it is the mental age...

too many people today don't wish to think... they just want to be told what to do..

Although everyone here is in the self employed mindset... never forget.. we are not the majority of the population

You are spot on as you said it is not the age but the mental age makes the difference! My uncle is 90+ years old and he enjoys chatting with his friends on facebook! He is still enjoying his life and enjoys every day!

The only time it is too late to start something is when you have already decided in your mind that you are too old, too fat, too short, whatever the case may be. If you set up a blockade for yourself, then you aren't going to succeed. One of the things I love about being a living human being, is free will. If I decide I can do something, I can do it, on the flip side if I decide I can't, then I am probably not going to even try.

Its never too late to do anything. Most people are just have a "poisoned mindset" thinking its "too early" or "too late", "can't be done", "won't be done" etc..

As gfsocial and jayauthor have already said, it's your mental age that counts.

I believe that to keep young in mind, you need to be forever looking forwards. I know of three older people, including my father-in-law, who have got dementia. All three of them have always wanted to talk about their past; what they used to do, never what they want to or are going to do. In 15 years of knowing him, I can't remember him ever talking about anything in the future, but he was always talking about his past. Now he can't remember what he said 20 seconds ago, but he will talk endlessly about things and people he knew 30 years ago.

Reminiscing is fine, but yearning for times gone can be devestating. Always have something to look forward to; a reason to live.

You're never too old to have something to look forward to.

No, it's not late if you are still alive to pursue your dreams and aspirations.

Yes, if you have gone six-feet under the ground level.

Are you breathing? Nope, not yet

The one thing preventing someone from succeeding is the thought they can't be successful. Age, occupation, etc are all crutches use to bolster this lame excuse.
