Has Anybody Tried EFT Tapping?

I've practiced the technique of EFT tapping but not too consistently. It's supposed to be an effective tool to remove blockages.

Has anyone tried EFT? What is your experience with it?

    Hi Ryan,

I've tried it and it can be very effective. It all depends on how much effort you put into it, because some issues need a little bit of extra poking to really resolve.

I am not a big proponent of focusing on the issues too much, because in some cases it can cause a small thing to become a bigger thing before it's resolved. I use EFT in combination with ho'oponopono, so I tap while saying I Love You & Thank You all the time.

I have found tapping to be a very good tool to use while practicing new affirmations that encounter serious resistance within me. For example, if I repeat affirmations about my health, I tap while doing it to release the resistance that naturally gets stirred up.

IMO, EFT is not really necessary for the smaller issues, where a slight adjustment in the way we think is probably all it takes. But, with big traumas and serious issues that you just can't seem to shake, EFT might be the best solution out there.

    Hope this helps,

    Josip

    Hi Josip,

Thanks for sharing your insight. I have the same deal with focusing on issues so I will try the ho'oponopono and EFT method too. Thanks again

I ordered EFT in the year 2000 before it got popular. It works when I remember to use it. I also like the Sedona Method/Release Technique. I also practice Spring Forest Qigong. I remember one time I did EFT tapping on alcohol because I was drinking too much. It actually made the thought of drinking seem disgusting after I tapped for a few days.

No more hay fever, no more sinus issues. EFT is very powerful - I doubted it at first - didn't think it would work but realized my sinus issues were slowly getting better.

They're gone now. No hay fever, no sneezing, no bloodshot eyes or other allergy problems. I can breathe in pollen and roll around in ragweed now :-)

Be flexible with EFT, use affirmations with it and measure the changes.

    The stuff definitely works IMO.

YouTube has some amazing stuff on EFT.

I still have the basic EFT script in my head that I learned 10 years ago. I'm thinking it might be different now. I wonder if you still have have to hum "happy birthday to you" ? That part cracks me up.

I did some copywriting work for an EFT practitioner once, and came away from the project thinking there might be something to it. Never have tried it myself, though.

I haven't used it much but know that it's powerful. I spend so much time in meditation, visualizing and affirming, along with my businesses, I just haven't made a commitment to it. The universe is leading me toward it though.

    Thanks for sharing guys.

  • I'm a qualified EFT Practitioner Yes it does work BUT for certain things, you have to know what you are doing to make it work with lasting results and as a previous poster said, I think there are better methods for things that just need a minor mindset adjustment (I use EFT with visualisations, affirmations and even with Reiki).

I specialise in trauma, phobias, negative thought patterns (depression, low self esteem and limiting beliefs etc) and it works really well for these. I also know of other practitioners that use it for symptoms of physical illness, people who use it for weight loss and people who use it together with the law of attraction.

Personally I believe that there is a lot of hype about EFT which is unfortunate (cure a phobia in minutes etc) which has added to the misconception that it is a simple process - it sometimes isn't, and you can run into trouble if you don't know what you are doing. It can unleash some pretty powerful buried emotions and the temptation would be to stop (because you feel worse). But you have to keep going.

Also, the key is knowing when to use a specific technique or not to use it to avoid causing further emotional trauma. I would say ALWAYS use a qualified practitioner when dealing with past trauma or something complicated like a phobia - not only it is safer but it will cut down the 'tapping' time considerably. When I trained in EFT I worked alone on my phobia, I worked on it for MONTHS but I have cured people's phobias in just 2 or 3 sessions.

But for simple things like using it to improve your mindset, clearing minor physical symptoms such as a migraine or cramp, or even helping you to deal with a stressful situation at work - go for it. It is a case of just tapping on the relevent points and saying a reminder phrase ie 'this pain in my head' or 'this terrible cramp' etc.

Hope I haven't put anyone off, EFT is a great tool to use and unlike most alternative therapies it has a success rate of over 80% (my success rate is over 90%). In fact, my success rate with clients is higher than it is when I'm working on myself.

If anyone wants any tips or some more information of how to start using EFT, please let me know.

Have you ever studied or tried Matrix Energetics? I read the book a couple months ago and it was pretty trippy. I think the "2 point" might be the best thing out there. Lately, like EFT I've been forgeting to 2 point - need to start up again. Sometimes when I 2 point my ears will start ringing or I will feel kind of spacey - this is good because it lets me know it's working. When the creator of ME 2points people the people usually fall backwards. One of my goals is to attend a ME seminar.

I don't know much about EFT. I looked up the tapping points
to see what the technique was like. I was a bit surprised
that the head points are the same as found in the "chi self
massage" technique I learned studying Chi Kung.

If you want to try something really nice, look into the
"6 healing sounds" method from Chi Kung. Generally, you
might massage all those EFT head/neck points then go into
the healing sounds meditation, which can make a person
    very relaxed.

The Chinese system maintains we hold heat in our liver and
other organs and that to live a long life free from excess
anger and hot emotions, we need to release the heat - and
these methods help do that. It's kind of hard to believe that
your emotional state could be so easily changed my doing
these funny techniques, but in my experience they are very
    powerful.

There are some good vidoes by David Childerly (MyGenie.com) on Youtube. He incorporates LOA with EFT tapping. Some really good stuff. Worth checking out

I practice EFT every now and then to resolve minor mental or emotional blockages, like stress or creativity challenges - works every time. I've tried it on some instances where I had to stay up all night - it worked - wasn't as tired the next day. I tried it when I've had headaches and at one time with a major tooth ache - worked great in relieving the pain to be quite minor and insignificant.

EFT is my secret problem solver whenever I need it. It is fast and works most of the time.

Using EFT usually makes me feel more relaxed, like a weight has been lifted from me. I have mostly used it on memories and issues from the past (Personal Peace Procedure from the EFT Manual)

I have been using it on procrastination lately. Don't know if it's because of that, but I get a lot more work done since then.

If you are new to EFT, try some videos on YouTube. Someone already mentioned David Childerley. The videos by Brad Yates are also recommended.

And if you would like to see a whole documentary on EFT/Tapping, take a look at The Tapping Solution (formerly known as Try It on Everything).

In my experience, most of these methods become second nature after 21 days. That's when real effective change sinks in.

As long as we're on the subject, however, is anyone familiar with the works of Franz Bardon? Very interesting and effective breathing exercises he wrote about, long ago. Applying these techniques to one's personal goals and needs is an amazing experiment. (Caveat: His books are rather expensive.)

I've tried EFT tapping. It is a bit helpful, but I find Qigong to be much more helpful.

Funny to read this post 6 years after the fact LOL. Used it a few times over the years. Works very, very well, when you tap on those feelings, embrace the feelings and release them. Thanks for all the feedback guys
