How has blogging affected you?

I'm doing some research for a project and interested to know how blogging may have changed peoples lives? Not really interested in the financial aspect, I'm more interested in the cultural/social sphere...?

Has following any particular blog changed your outlook?

Has what others have blogged touched you or made a connection?

That sort of thing.

Have to admit, I'm quite surprised nobody has a story to tell...

2 examples of blogs I followed and which had an impact on my life:

Mark's Daily Apple - got my diet and fitness to do a 180 °. Lost 50+ lb in the process.
PHIL TOWN - am monitoring my stock portfolio with his method

Blogs are important to me: I am betting on the jockey as much as on the horse.

This works in the opposite way too: when the sense that the blogger is delegating his writing to ghostwriters and does not say so, this drops my interest in his offering.

It has made me a self-proclaimed "guru".

It has made me a better online business person.

It has made me learn a lot about products and services I would not have ordinarily known about.

In fact, the list is endless.

At this stage, the very beginning, they make me want to cry. Ok not really. But I do find blogs and websites in general a little frustrating as I'm trying to change the way I think to accommodate the IM lifestyle. I'm a fix it guy. You find me something that is broken, like your computer, and I can fix it.
Now I'm trying to be the create and sales and traffic guy. It's alot for someone to take on, but I am excited and still studying. There's a lot to it and I think I'm going to start with CPC to CPA driving. I've had the fortune to start getting clicks, so I'm doing something right, but I haven't gotten the sign up or opt ins successfully yet.
I think once I get those going, I'm going back to blogging to set up more long term income.
