30 Day Challenge -Tony Robbins "Personal Power II"

Hello, All,
I have an old CD set of Tony Robbins "Personal Power II" that I want to go through. I didn't make it through the first time or two I tried it (it was at least 10 years ago!) - guess I got behind in the assignments and stopped. Goal setting was really hard for me at the time. I think I was so unsure of myself back then that I thought I might pick the "wrong goals". Clearly, then I was trying to do the "shoulds" and that never worked.

I have done other programs and read many books along the way, and yes, I have learned a lot about setting my own goals now, but I never completed Tony's program.

Long story short - I suspect there may be some Warriors here that also have a set of "Personal Power II" CD's or even old tapes that are gathering dust somewhere just begging to be used. Wouldn't it be great to pull them out and go through the program again or maybe for the first time?

Starting Nov. 1, I will be starting the program again and recording my journey on my blog. I invite others to take the opportunity to join me as a sort of experiment.

Does it make a difference to do it with others rather than on one's own?
I think it may - and for those, I hope you will join me.

Strengthening the foundation of our beliefs and getting clear on our goals, is the basis of any endeavor that entices us to excel. Using this 30 Day Challenge as an chance to give ourselves a "tuneup" may help clear out some cobwebs and maybe fill in some blanks of understanding. The goal is to create a clearer platform from which to operate at a higher level.

I know I need to do exactly this. Although I'm making progress, I believe I can do more and if this sounds like you, and if this format suits you, then let's do it together.

Guess it's like chicken soup. Can't hurt and it could possibly help create more momentum and better results for us all. Tony Robbins certainly has helped many thousands of people. Good credentials. Results oriented - and I love the words of invitation to incite us to create a compelling future.

So, pull out your programs, dust them off... and if your dog ate yours, you can get a copy on Amazon or maybe borrow one from a friend. I do have a link there on my blog, but that is not my focus.

I'd like your input on this idea and hope you'll join me. There is no opt in required at all.. I do have an RSS feed, if that helps.

My blog address is: www.debbauer.com
If the link isn't permitted in this, I'll add it to my signature.

Onward,
Deb

    What the heck Deb...I'm in

I have a copy of 'Personal Power II' and 'Get The Edge' and 'Power Talk' blah, blah...I guess you can tell that I'm a fan of Tony Robbins

Just a shame that I can't seem to finish his programs

I read your post a few days ago and I thought it was an awesome idea...but it's taken me all this time to make up my mind to commit...should I...shan't I...should I...shan't I.

I think it's just what I need considering my obvious problems with commitment and indecision...add to that procrastination and heaven's knows what else

Let's do this and see if we can't finish this thing once and for all...and who knows...we might actually get something out of it lol

I'm on the other side of the earth...I actually get to do this a whole day ahead of you so you can kick my butt first if I don't do my assignment

Looking forward to hearing from you...I'm off to your blog to post a comment

      Hi, Nicole!
How cool is this? Looking forward to a grand adventure...
      Anyone else?? Helloooo?

Not sure if the point is to doggedly not miss a day EVER... but the point is to finish all of it within a reasonable time - and to finish strong.

Thanks for taking on the challenge. Onward!

@Nicole, I see... THAT far under. Listened to Day I and I'm just getting my assignment completed. There have been many things I've "put off" doing so just choosing two.. hmmmm...
          but I did.

@Anoopchowla - Thanks also for the great endorsement! Feel free to provide input as we go. I'll be posting daily updates on my blog (see address below). Tony has been an inspiration for millions of people!

@Ben_R Absolutely agree! I've read several of his books as well and even in the reading my mind gets more clear. I want to see how far I can go with this. I'd love it if you'd stop into my blog now and again to add your input, if you'd be so inclined.

          Thanks again!

Day One...The Key to Personal Power...done and dusted.

I've listened to the first tape sooooo many times, I think I could recite it in my sleep

Interestingly, every time I do the assignment, I keep coming up with the same two decisions that I keep putting off:

            1. To finish the Personal Power II program...this time

            2. To commit to getting up at 6.00 am everyday for the next 30 Days.

Maybe my subconscious is trying to tell me something and I should just shut up and listen and guess what...I didn't get up at 6.00 am this morning more like 7.45 am.

I'm not going to beat myself up about it...I'm just going to wipe the slate clean and try again tomorrow...with two alarm clocks this time

I'm off to go do Day Two and see what other baggage my mind can find lol .

            Take Care

Day Two...The Controlling Force That Directs Your Life...done and dusted.

Oh Boy where do I start...and how long is a piece of string

Three out of the four 'Actions' I picked today involved 'Getting Organised' Now there's a niche for you lol

Paperwork...filing cabinets...household shelves...oooh I just love looking at freshly cleaned, uncluttered, orderly stuff.

I starting to think I'm a closet control freak I may need to go see a therapist after this

The fourth 'Action' was to start an exercise routine...oh joy...how original...but hey...that's what the ol' grey matter came up with. Mmmm...I think I'll start that tomorrow...or maybe the day after lol

I still didn't get up at 6.00 am this morning...still 7.45 am. I've been getting up at the same time for so long now, I think it's just programed in. Still no excuse...I'm going to try and get up 15 mins earlier tomorrow and take it from there.

Right...Day Three it is...onward and upward.

                  Cheers,

Had lunch with a friend of mine who I hadn't seen for a couple of years. She's doing very well in IM and I asked her how long she'd been marketing that way. She said that she'd been doing it for about a year. I asked her what helped her get started.

Wouldn't you know it? Another Tony Robbins success story. She'd gone through the course right before she began learning about internet marketing and is now doing very well. I didn't know that about her before. My, my. Coincidence? I think not.

Working on Day 5 and will post on my blog tomorrow afternoon.

Yellowbird, I have got Tony's PP 2 and I know its awesome. I have gone through it once and got a very good understanding of how our mind works.

From past few days I am working on what I would say PP 2 total mastery. I mean not only I am trying to learn his concept but I am trying to make those concepts part of my life.

Let's how it affects my life.

Well, still here. Working on Day 10. There's quite a bit to this day, and I want to get it done in depth. How am I doing? Well, very well. I'm noticing a general increase in effectiveness in my day to day life. However, what I'm most interested in is practicing the system Tony has for disconnecting and breaking the old patterns and replacing with new options.

That is today. Like he says, at this point, he is more interested in finding what is empowering than being "right". As I discovered by writing and ranking my values, I've been at odds in more than one area. No wonder it felt like I was operating with one foot on the gas and another on the brake. I was!

I discovered what these values are and how they have operated against each other (and therefore ME) without my conscious consent. Now, as I really look at my past beliefs and values, I have the opportunity to change any and all of them. It's all in the knowing how.

Remember the guy with a hammer who charged his customer $5,010 for one strike of the tool? The customer was horrified, but the hammer guy told him that the $10 was for the hit, but the $4,990 was for knowing how to use the hammer. How true.

Anyway, thanks for the support and comments from those other Tony Robbins fans.

I'm just finishing Day 16. Hard to believe I'm over halfway through. I'm finding that the process is tending to bring up "old stuff" that I thought I was done with. Clearly, I had somehow buried some of these patterns and hurts before completely healing them - and I find crankiness and irritation at disturbing the "sleeping dogs".

HOWEVER, by sticking with the program, I'm learning the tools to eradicate and condition new, appropriate responses to reflect who I always was (but kinda forgot).
I think the main difference with going through it this time is primarily, that I'm actually going through it this time and I'm doing it as deeply as I can. I'm looking forward to the changes I'm making to really take effect in my life, as well as starting this over again, when I'm through.

My husband decided to do this with me and there has been such a transformation in him that it is pretty wonderful. Now, HE's the one saying, "gotta listen to Tony and don't want to get behind". This is a huge change.

I find that listening to the sub-liminals during the day helps as well. Well, gotta go write up my homework assignment and then post a couple things on my blog.

One thing I've learned from this is that I linked ultimate pain to success,(during my formative years, the conclusion made absolute sense on several levels), so I avoided it very, very well. Now I can see that the pain without success is the greater - so connecting to the goals I really want with the idea of achievement is pretty cool, indeed.

      Hi, Jewin,
As far as I can tell, the Personal Power I was released in 1993 as a cassette series and Personal Power II was released in 1996 with either a CD or Tape cassette option. The Personal Power II is just an updated version. The core is the same.

I think it's great that you're on board. I actually have the Personal Power I on tape as well and there isn't a tremendous amount of difference (note that I haven't gone through the whole thing on either of these), in fact you can still hear him talk about "on this or that tape" on the CD's.

Yes, he pushes for change, but as yet, I wasn't able to do it on my own (or I would have) - and the results from going through this are beginning to show up.

Thanks for your note! Quick question, what it will it cost you if you DON'T commit to doing it? And then, how will you feel if you DO complete the course? Maybe that will give you the push to decide to really go into it deeply.

If you've done it once, you know you get out of it what you put into it. I think that's what Tony would say... Ha..

It's a great book! If you do the exercises, you will get results. I think there is more than one way to achieve your goals. The most important one (besides persistence!) is following a system. It's nice to know we don't have to reinvent the wheel.

      Best wishes..
