Hey everyone! Just thought I'd come by and share a little success story that made me happy

Me and my company were just featured on 2 articles on Forbes...and even though the article isn't quite loving us its still pretty cool to be on Forbes.

Here's the articles:

We recently launched the site about a month or 2 ago and to get to this level so quickly just shows IM is very easily done.

Not to mention we're still climbing exceptionally.

Soooo . . . does that woman have something against capitalism? There was a demand, you filled it.

Sometimes it's a little irksome to see things splayed across the front page of sites like that that you know someone payed for . . . but at the same time, if your content wasn't there, someone else's would be.

It seems like she just wanted to be indignant about something. (And do her irate readers REALLY understand what's going on? Or are they just mad because they can't take advantage of a service like this?)

  Yeah it did seem like she was a bit upset about it. I mean "Digg Manipulator" doesn't really put forth good connotations but oh well you're probably right about the readers not knowing what shes even talking about or just not taking advantage.
  
  Like I said in the quote its not like we have total control over the site and its not like we promote spam content anyways. We just give good content a little bit of an edge so its not unethical as shes trying to make it be.

It's a pity Elizabeth Woyke didn't make more of
the relationship between Digg, Reddit,
StumbleUpon, and Delicious, and making
sales.

But otherwise it's a pretty cool advertisement
for your service.

Thanks everyone! Yeah I know it didn't sound like she loved us but o well she still told everyone about what we do. Free marketing and on Forbes.com not bad...

The traffic wasn't THAT great :/ but it was free haha

Just cool to see yourself quoted on Forbes...Thanks again everyone.

Well done, that's pretty cool

Yep, is a pitty that she didn't get it. I especially liked this bit:

"The idea of exploiting social media sites for online traffic and money outraged quite a few people"

Because no company every uses Twitter or Facebook to get traffic and money do they :rolleyes:

LOL. Definitely a silly thing for her to say.

This is the internet, and there are much bigger firms which charge much more than you do to get good Digg/Reddit/etc placements via viral campaigns. Yours definitely sounds a good service. Congrats on the free media

Nice job. I added my profile about what I'm trying to promote currently and a comment explaining my perspective on your services to the orginal work.

In terms of why the traffic boost was low, most Forbes readers aren't your potential customers (as Warriors are). But you also can't know for sure what domino affect it can have. Someone else reads the story, thinks the discussion is interesting and contacts you and they choose to include a quote by you.... and so on.

And, as said above, all publicity is good publicity.
