Difficulties, hardships, pain, discomfort, misery, WHY???

Life is not just about finding happiness.

Happiness is important and it will come when we do things properly. Our life is a cycle of birth and death. Within that cycle is the process of growth. Growth brings about change and change signals adjustment on our part.

If we want change in our lives, we need to do things differently and in a more productive way. If we are doing the same things in the same manner as before, results won't be different.

Sometimes, we need to be willing to experience certain hardships, difficulties and a lot of discomfort if we want growth to take place.

When we learn to handle pain that usually accompanies the process of growing, we become more effective in what we are doing. Results become better and happiness follows. Oftentimes, pain is an indication that something is wrong BUT to feel miserable is a decision you make.

People who experience pain either remain prisoners of their own anger or bitterness which is caused by others or they become more deeply compassionate and help other people in their difficulties.

If you want to grow, be prepared to experience the hardships of life.

BUT please do bear in mind that They are Temporary.

Rewards are coming soon.

There is always light at the end of the proverbial tunnel,

Sunshine after the Rain
and;

Gain after the Pain.

We need to cheer ourselves up. I agree, sometimes there is some pain before the growth and joy. But look to the joy, not dwell in the pain.

Look for the positive, in any so called negative situation. The positive is always there, and if you focus on one positive aspect, it will lift you higher and brighter than you have ever been!

Reach for the empowering feeling, and enjoy as much as you can.

    Sigh. Really?

Maybe, someday, with enough medication racing through his veins, he will fondly think of the drunk a-hole who put him in the wheelchair and taught him the great lesson of life...

until then, and unless you've lived in physical pain for extended periods of time...

Your post, to me, is just more pablam for the masses. Nothing personal, don't take it so.

But there are feelings and serious pain which, often as not, prevents one from finding happiness.

Im sorry to hear about your friend's son.

But please, could you please be considerate and be fair quoting from the post?

Is it really the essence of the totality of the post?

Is it the true essence of the statement where the quotations extracted from?

Those are two separate partial statements from two different complete thoughts that conveys its own message.

I'm talking about GROWTH here and not the pain and misery per se. I'm talking about pain and misery that goes with GROWTH.

Nothing personal? but this thread is something proper to me, and your posts will be a COMMENT or a REPLY to what I have said, something directed(might not be personally) to my post, and this post belongs to me.

Please enlighten me more on what you want to express.

I'm taking each replies and comments personally because all of my posts are very personal to me. Its a reflection of who I am and I am taking responsibility on what Ive been saying and posting in the forum.

      Thank you.

It is indeed a terrible thing what happened to your friend's son, still, I personally know of someone who lived through horrific physical tragedy that did "choose" not to be miserable.

The physical misery may not be of his choosing but the mental misery is something we all have a choice to live with or not, and choosing not to be miserable doesn't have anything to do with thinking fondly about the person responsible for the physical suffering. It's about releasing the anger because that's what this kind of misery is. It's anger toward the person responsible or a sense of "why me?" So with all the physical suffering, why add mental suffering to the mix? It doesn't help ease the pain.

Please believe that I don't mean any disrespect, neither am I making any statement as to the right or the wrong of this choice, and who knows, given the same circumstances, I might make that same choice myself, the fact is it is simply a choice.

That was very inspirational. I always tell people that when things are going bad, it's only temporary. Life is like a roller coaster. You will have peeks and valleys. If we never had hardships or had to struggle, we will never know how strong we truly are. See you at the top! Keep in touch.

We know that moral character gets formed through hardships, through overcoming obstacles, through enduring despite difficulties. Courage, for example would be impossible in a world without pain.Let's face it: we learn from the mistakes we make and the suffering they bring.

The universe is a soul-making machine, and part of that process is learning, maturing and growing through difficult and challenging and painful experiences. The point of our lives in this world isn't comfort, but training and preparation foreternity.

They are all part of our lives isn't it.I work bearing the idea that "when one way closes dozen other ways are waiting for your arrival".When you think like that you will begin to see more options and it will help you to go ahead without losing your faith.I think the positive thinking is the main thing you should have to be successful.

Very inspirational, Chris! Being miserable is a decision made by the person himself. Growth is a gradual and two-way process. It's either, it will MAKE you or BREAK you.

Cheers and happy holidays to all.
