Mixing Marketing & Self-Improvement

Hey there,

I'm curious to know how others have mixed these two together. I am a big fan of Joe Vitale's and he's done a great job. Many of my interests are very similar to his. Even before I learned of him, it was my goal to mix the two together somehow someway.

I'd love to know if anyone on this board has taken a similar path, helping people not just grow their bank accounts, but also helping them grow as a person.

I believe the market for that is called 'innerprenuers' and for one, I fit into that market pretty darn well.

  • Hi

I've actually not heard that term before but I'm a big believer that the power of the mind is core to your own achievements and to the success of your marketing. You have to develop the right mindset before you can achieve success.

    Best regards

    Robert

I'm doing it and loving it and would love to help you as well.

Several paths to take. You can promote other people's products via affiliate marketing, create your own products, joint venture's, ...

Um, yeah. If you are in the education/coaching business
at all that's what it's all about on a very basic level - most
people who try to make money with a home business
fail badly and the reason has to do with personal growth...
the lack of the strength of character to persevere and
overcome the obstacles on the path.

I don't agree with Vitale's pseudoscientific guru act but he's
a good writer on marketing and persuasion. I don't take
him very seriously - a lot of people who do this stuff
well never even mention foopy "out-there" ideas like
"law of attraction" (which is a theory, not a law) and are
better role models in my book.

Its a great question, and you will find that most IM-ers are doing both.

It makes sense to always offer some advice to self improvement when marketing any product (or service) to potential customers. After all, you want to make sure your product does exactly as it says.

Self improvement comes when the customers solves their problem, or makes money from your advice. There is no better feeling than getting it right.

It is the best type of self improvement!

Marketing and Self Improvement go hand in hand. We all are improving ourselves by marketing and also helping others by giving them tips and ideas on marketing.

Self Improvement is just a added bonus to Marketing.

Yeah, Joe is somewhat of a nutcase in his teachings but... I did begin with him and I won't deny he did help me along the evolution process, even if i don't agree with everything he teaches...

I don't agree with everything about the law of attraction, but there is much truth in it. When you focus on certain thoughts and feelings internally- externally it can manifest and I believe they teach theories like this in NLP or hypnosis?

        Sheda,

Openly confess, I 'am addicted to the thought process. Just believe you must have the correct thought process to be success at in anything that involves competition. I have been in sales all my life. To be honest, it's the only type of work I've every done.

From the time in the Military, Sports, and Marketing the ones who are thinking well, experience a feeling of calm inside. Without a doubt, they have a big advantage.

However,it's not just the good thoughts, but there are other facts to consider. The energy from the Brain causes you to take action, and that is the other half that everyone is talking about. The first thing I did, when applying it to Internet Marketing was to make sure to wake in the morning, in a good mood.

Boy! That was hard at first, but it gives you an edge. You set the tone for the whole day, and then you start working like crazy, and before you know it, its 3:00PM. Take yourself a little nap, and keep going until 9:00PM.

With a work habit like that you are going to be a force to be reckoned with, period.

        Jimmy.

NLP is a theory as well, very much discredited in legit psychotherapy
and considered a pseudoscience. I'm not saying it doesn't have
useful aspects - but adding that NLP practictioners talk about the
Law of Attraction doesn't actually add to it's credibility. It undermines
        it.

One of the better resources for getting straight on what science is
and what new-age pseudoscience is can be found at Skeptical Inquirer magazine

I have done NLP workshops and read books about it. It is interesting
stuff to be sure. I don't find any of these things particularly
disturbing as long as they are not set up as new gods - as I have
seen happen with the LOA stuff like "the Secret". In any case where
a religious or pseudopreligious zeal takes hold of a large group of
people there is a lot of room for delusional thinking. I have seen it
first-hand with many friends of mine who bought "the secret" hook,
        line and sinker.

They had no choice. Nobody had taught them critical thinking skills.
Most people today are sadly deficient in that area and in easily
        manipulated because of it.

When I do believe that the two go together definitely. I've been operating two websites and a self improvement area for 10 years now. One about self esteem and the other about depression and I believe that there is a strong connection between the mind and motivation and what you can earn online.

I've also started a blog which combines these two elements together. If you are interested visit my " self help and prosperity blog"
