I have to totally agree with you there Asher. It's all about striking the right balance between work and fun. Sometimes we get so stuck in our work that we forget that we are working to make the big bucks to have FUN!

Yes, I agree. You know all that "all work and no play" thingy. Although I would prefer going out and catch some sun and maybe some basketball. It can get pretty refreshing.

Yes, that's why I try to ride my bike every day, weather permitting. Also, in my case, dancing and listening to music does a great job. I have a lot of fun doing all this and it's great for releasing stress.

Dagmar, have you ever tried to ride your bike through the pouring rain?? It's a blast!! You are missing out if you have not ridden through some very large puddles and gotten all muddy and soaked to the skin!! This spring, I went through a flooded pathway system and pedalled through water up to my knees while standing up on the bike!! Okay, maybe could have been swept away in a flood or sunk in a pothole, but it was so much fun I did it twice!!

It's like having a shower with your clothes on!

I've done something similar a couple of times and it's really very
refreshing when you just enjoy a pouring rain.

God didn't give us this wonderful living experience to work and just make money.

I like the anecdote about Benjamin Franklin as he talks about the the Declaration of Independence and how it guarantees the "pursuit of happiness". He goes on to say that it is ONLY a guarantee of the right to pursue happiness, one has to "catch" it for themself.

If you can't define "fun", which is another gift in your living experience from God, you're not pursuing and catching ALL that life provides.

I fully agree with you. All the time doing serious work and worrying about it will not relax your mind. You need to have some fun and divert your mind from the routine. Yes, playing the games you like and chatting with people are real relaxations to both body and mind. A good book can also give you the relaxation you need. You will find a lot of improvement in your work also if you take some time exclusively for yourself.

Good point. Sometimes it's tough to decide whether something is a distraction or a bit of harmless fun. It's good to get the balance right. I guess the secret is to make sure you have time that is totally focused on getting things done and then allow yourelf a bit of time to relax. It's easy to forget to do that.
