When things are just going so great, you can't concentrate anymore... What do you do?

Hi all! I'm having a bit of a strange predicament here... Wondering if my fellow Mind Warriors can help.

Awhile back, I put one of my favorite principles of the Law of Attraction to work for me. I decided that even if things aren't great at the moment for me, there are plenty who are worse off - and I should do what I can to help.

Every Christmas, I donate money to the Union Gospel Mission's christmas dinner fund, which serves over 3000 meals every Christmas day (600+ of which are to homeless children.)

This year, I ran a WSO. I raised over $100 for UGM, feeding 33 people on Christmas day.

My sister is having a baby boy, which is a miracle because the doctor said its unlikely she would ever have a baby...

My copywriting services are in high demand, I have almost half a dozen repeat clients, and have several leads on important contracts - as well as still helping fellow warriors with reduced rate projects

I'm making huge, important contacts using social networking.

My bills are paid, and I have several hundred (possibly even a couple thousand) dollars to spend on Christmas this year.

My boyfriend and I are having our first Christmas together.

I'm truly enjoying every bit of work that I do, every single day.

I'm healthy and happy.

AND - It's going to snow on Saturday. I love snow.

But here is my problem. With all of those fantastic things going on... I can't concentrate! It's like I'm in a constant state of delirious happiness, dreaming my way through the day.

Now, I know that may be partly to blame for my good fortune. The less I worry, the better things get. BUT it also makes it hard to finish my work.

Have any of you ever had to deal with that before? How do you get focused again, without bringing in the negative and ruining your good fortune?

Thanks all!

- Cherilyn

I agree with success4all, I am a yoga teacher and by just observing your thoughts as an onlooker and just acknowledging the events occurring in your life is a good start. It doesnt mean that you have to dettach from them but just try and maintain the non attachmet to continue recieving the positve energy.

You have a point there. If music works for you that is fine. What works for me may not work for you simply because people are unique.

Meditation is to be in harmony, love and peace with yourself. If music does the trick, then for you music is meditation.

For me, when life is "too much with me" [good or bad] - I go back to Nature. To my forests. Just sitting calmly, becoming aware of all the miracles and beauty and life around me. Some call it grounding. I call it peace.

And then you can focus. It's like you've come to terms with what is. So now you can go on to what needs to be helped.

Another coping technique for me is to knit/crochet/tat. Again, focusing on the miracle of creating something unique, useful and pretty out of yarn and needles/hook/shuttle is mesmerizing. It produces a mild hidey-hole that lets me concentrate on the motions, freeing my mind to touch gently on whatever is overwhelming me until peace is achieved.

Here's a hint: if work is too stressful, a quickie time-out with your handcrafting away from your desk for just a few minutes can seriously restore balance to your outlook. Honest!

        Hope this helps,

Living in the past and future is NOT PRODUCTIVE.

Living in the present (the now) is where you focus- that's it. Be conscious of your actions and thoughts.

Ask yourself, "Is what I am doing right now pushing me closer to my goals?"

Its really a matter of self discipline and being in a Focus State. What keeps you focused and motivated? Music is a great way to stay motivated.

What song brings back memories of motivation? Meditation is good for self discipline.

          Good Luck

I get out a pen and paper and start to write about what I will accomplish next, and how I plan to get there. Its a great way to stay focused. Write everything down. Step by step

  • Maybe the best approach is to take some time off and enjoy your happy state. Sometimes we get so focused on doing things that we forget the attractions of doing nothing for a while!

    Best regards

    Cherilyn--

There is a reason it is called The LAW Of Attraction - there are TENETS that you must remain in alignment with, lest you 'Attract' situations that reflect a loss of Focus.

You must never, EVER again state or declare "I CAN'T CONCENTRATE." I assure you that the belief has PRECEDED the result. You may not see it, but The Law is The Law. You must do everything you can, immediately, to reverse course, place the thought, hold the thought, and not let go of the thought despite all appearances, that YOU CAN AND YOU SHALL CONCENTRATE!

    Period.
