Essence? Existence? Which one precedes the other?

Hi fellow Warriors.

I have a question for all of you.

Your opinion, your stand, your insight will be very much appreciated and will truly be of benefit to other warriors.

Let us all now become existentialist warriors. Warriors who will try to define, who will reflect, who will take a stand on how we view our existence, our essence, the essence of our existence.

The question is...

In the following propositions...

-EXISTENCE PRECEDES ESSENCE-

-ESSENCE PRECEDES EXISTENCE-

Which one you believe in? or leaning towards to? or more appropriate? or more factual? or more superior? or more applicable? or more evident?
and then answer the question...

WHY?

      In this particular context, we can treat the term 'essence' analogous to MEANING, PURPOSE, IDENTITY.

      In other terms:

      Its our existence precedes, (Our lives- Meaning, Purpose, Identity)
      That is, we our here on Earth, thrown in the world, to give, to determine, to define our live's purpose, meaning, and identity.

      or

      It is the Meaning, the Purpose, the Identity that precedes our existence
      That is, we are here, we exist because we have a purpose to fulfill.

        I think it is essence first before existence. That's why when we exist, we find the essence of our existence because it's been there long before we existed. We find and look for the essence of our existence -- we look for it, not create it. God created it before we were here. And when we were created we're tasked just to look for it. Well, this is just my point of view. I stand corrected. Looking forward to what our fellow warriors have to say. Oh CHRISBIZ, why ask by the way? Are you at the moment of wondering the essence of your existence?

    I believe our essence is there well before we exist in our physical form. I believe we take our physical form to experience life. I don’t believe anything is preordain, I believe that we have free will and can control any outcome if we learn how to take control.
