I was reading someplace recently where a handful of people were expressing their belief that the book Think and Grow Rich is nothing more than a belief system with no real steps to become rich.

This is true, what you believe it to be it will be for you. What you believe will affect the outcome of any task you undertake. If you believe that it is impossible to do something then you are correct, and you will fail. If you believe you CAN do it and persist towards its achievement you will succeed.

If Thomas Edison gave up he would never have invented the light bulb, but he persisted for over 10,000 different tries. Can you say you gave the same effort in the last thing you tried and failed at?

The people that brush off Think and Grow Rich are the ones that don’t give it the Edison try. They try once, twice, maybe even 10 times then just give up. If that’s all the effort you wish to expend on what you want then don’t blame it on the book, there is only one factor to blame.

These individuals were complaining that the book didn’t give a step-by-step approach on how to become rich. To me these are the people too use to having everything given to them. Nothing in life of value is free; you must give something of value in exchange. Whether its services, time, physical labor, or your freedom, you will exchange something for what you receive, just make sure it’s worth it.

I don’t write this to bash people but to wake them up, to have them understand that what they want must be a strong enough desire that they are willing to pursue it until they achieve their desire. That is one of the main reasons, the reason Napoleon Hill says is plainly hidden in sight throughout the book, that you MUST have a BURNING DESIRE to achieve your goal.

Many people have dreams, desires, wishes, but very few have that needed Burning Desire that is needed to achieve their goals. If you do not have this Burning Desire, or do not wish to turn your dreams into Burning Desires than what you say you want is not worth the price that is needed to be paid to achieve it.

If I told you that if you walked 1 mile I would give you $500 would you do it? Some would, some wouldn’t, it depends on what you are willing to exchange for that $500. What if I told you that if you walked 500 miles I’d give you $500, would you still do it? What if I told you if you walked 500 miles I’d give you $5,000,000, would you do it now?

Some would walk 500 miles for $5,000,000, others wouldn’t; it all comes down to the value you place on the exchange.

If you want something then you must be able to say what you are willing to do to achieve that goal and how much effort you are willing to give to achieve it. YOU are the key, NOT the book.
