Self Hypnotic Inductions work great for High Performance

I haven't really studied hypnosis enough to call myself an expert in the area, nor do I possess any certifications that would allow me to either!

I have however, studied my own brain, engaged probably thousands of mental exercises geared toward peak mental and psychological performance. I believe that directing your mind with an intention of installing a new thought, idea or pattern, is a very powerful thing.

Your brain picks up on things all of the time. You're always just learning random stuff. If you can consciously go in there, relax yourself for about a minute or two and direct the processes of your mind to do great things, you'll get great results.

Example: You sit down and focus your attention on the number 10... create an image of it in your head. Then say to yourself, "as I count down from ten rapidly, you're going to quickly relax every muscle of your body and clear your mind completely."

Then, after you've given that command, start visualizing the numbers going down in sequence. 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,0! Then close your eyes.

That exercise just put your brain in an incredibly receptive place. Go nuts with it. Put whatever you want there. If you're in a bad mental state, say "you will now go into an incredibly resourceful place where you're experiencing joy, ideas flow to your mind and you have the ability to implement them immediately."

Watch what that does! I've found that directing the processes of your brain is the foundation for getting yourself to engage in high performance activities consistently! Thanks for reading!

    Yes, it works!!!

    I do this and have felt a tremendous boost in my productivity since I am inducing myself to be more productive.

    I have been able to manifest things as well.

    But what I have enjoy the most is my productivity boost.

    Hypnotic inductions combined with the process I described in other thread (see link in signature) equals time management and productivity on steroids!!!

      Good question. I learned a great deal about altering processes of the mind from studying a guy named Richard Bandler. He wrote many books about hypnosis and the science he pioneered "Neuro Linguistic Programming." A great book to read to understand how these things work is Richard Bandler's guide to trance formation.

      Guys like him are way ahead of their time. He discovered things about the way we process information that psychologists and psychiatrists missed for years.

    This self-hypnotic method is taught to us in the 1st class of the International Certificate in Clinical Hypnosis conducted by the London College of Clinical Hypnosis. It's easy to use. We were advised to focus on one suggestion at any one time.

    The problem, however, is not in the execution but in the consistency of doing this. If you can consistently and, eventually, habitually practice this, you'd be amazed by what you can accomplish.

      Awesome! That sounds great! I'm definitely going to engage in taking some actual academic courses both in NLP and Hypnosis. Having studied both of them, NLP extensively, it's really just a great way to use your own brain. Thanks for replying! Great comment.

    Most people do not know how to truly relax, they think that by sitting or laying down that one is truly relaxed when they are not.

    Here’s a quick method to learn how to totally physically relax. The best method it to lie down, you can do it sitting but laying down is best.

    Starting at your feet and working up begin by tensing your toes, curl them and squeeze them, hold it and tighten your feet and squeeze them tight too. Hold and tighten your calves, thighs and buttocks. Squeeze then all tight and hold for the count of 5, then release and relax the toes, feet, calves, thighs and buttocks.

    Next tense and squeeze the abdominals, chest back, neck, face and scalp. Hold for the count of 5 and release and relax them in the order you tensed them.

    By now your whole body will feel a deeper sense of relaxation then every before. This is a sample of true relaxation. By practicing this exercise every night before bed you will learn how to truly relax and in time will be able to do so without this whole process.

      Great reply. This is so important to do. We unconsciously tighten pretty much every muscle in our bodies all day! Consciously relaxing them is key! I'm learning about this now.. great stuff.

    This is a great technique that works. I spend at least
    15 minutes daily in a quiet meditative state to relax.

    That break gets my creative juices flowing and just makes
    me feel better - especially if I'm working on a particularly
    mentally challenging project.

    The use of imagination plays an important role in this.

    I visualize myself in a very peaceful context, like at the beach, and imagine how the fresh air and the sound of the waves relax me.

    This allows me to train my kinesthesic and auditorial skills

      After I relax my muscles I visualize a place that I mentally created by combining a number of location that I find relaxing. I picture myself there and enjoying the scenery. This technique works great because anything here is possible and since your subconscious cannot tell what is real and what is imagined in vivid detail it really opens the mind to great possibilities.

    Here is the copy of a simple relaxing exercise that I use from times to times to either have a clearer mind before I work on some projects or simply let go of some tensions. It uses deep breathing and is pretty effective after only few minutes. Since it works pretty well for me, perhaps it will help some of you too!

    The key to deep breathing is to breathe deeply from the abdomen, getting as much fresh air as possible in your lungs. When you take deep breaths from the abdomen, rather than shallow breaths from your upper chest, you inhale more oxygen. The more oxygen you get, the less tense, short of breath, and anxious you feel. So the next time you feel stressed, take a minute to slow down and breathe deeply:
    • Sit comfortably with your back straight. Put one hand on your chest and the other on your stomach.
    • Breathe in through your nose. The hand on your stomach should rise. The hand on your chest should move very little.
    • Exhale through your mouth, pushing out as much air as you can while contracting your abdominal muscles. The hand on your stomach should move in as you exhale, but your other hand should move very little.
    • Continue to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Try to inhale enough so that your lower abdomen rises and falls. Count slowly as you exhale.
    If you have a hard time breathing from your abdomen while sitting up, try lying on the floor. Put a small book on your stomach, and try to breathe so that the book rises as you inhale and falls as you exhale.

    I think it's a continuous learning process and I agree with Alex! it definitely work. When you're in a state of trance, you get more communication from you subconscious and conscious state. Studies on the ability of subliminal messages to influence academic performance, eliminating bad habits like smoking and improving self esteem. There have been some studies that backs these claims, read from mindmaster.tv/scientific.html
