How Many Hours Per Day Do You Spend Working Your IM Biz?

It's been said that you spend 40 hours per week on
your J.O.B. trying to survive.

Anything beyond that is an investment in your success,
for it is gravy!

Let the building's security & janitors see you when you
stay late for work, and let the mailroom employees see
you in the morning when you arrive earlier than everyone
else.

Do you eat lunch out, or do you stay in and eat lunch at
your desk to save time?

Never forget, the office is always open at night!

How many hours do you spend per day working your internet
marketing business? 1? 3?

If it's only 1/2 hour a day, make sure you make that small
amount of time real quality time! Quality beats quantity
here-hands down...

Happy New Year!

I agree it’s important to be seen, but it’s the people at the top that you want to know you are there, granted word may get around, but make sure also the ones that do the promoting see you to.

I try to get in 2-4 hours a day. In the beginning when I started, it was hard to get motivated because I had no boss telling me what to do. Now I am self motivated and I have a great team around me who is also

I promise myself that I will spend at least a hour a day for 6 days a week but it's usually more. This is on top of a full time job and family. I used to do 3 hours a day for 2 weeks solid but find myself not really '"working" then take a week off because I was fed up with it so now I have a dedicated day off so when I return to it I feel a bit more refreshed and motivated. This way I can continue ploughing ahead instead stop starting which is what I was doing before.

I work 60-80 hours per week but I run this business full time and I have a lot of clients and commitments. Now that I'm entering my 4th year as a full time business owner, one of my goals it to outsource and hire more of the grunt work so I can sleep more and have more fun time. Although I already spend a ton of time with my kids and wife so I'm happy.

I typically work anywhere from 40 to 60 hours per week, but it really doesn't feel like work at all since I truly enjoy what I'm doing, and I don't have any commute or traffic jams to worry about, or waste my time!

I go at it for 10-12 hours daily then go to the Gym. For me, the work is fulfilling. I take frequent short and long breaks, and spend some time with the wife chatting outside when the weather is good. Since I start at 5AM daily, by 6PM I have my main day complete. After the Gym, I mind read some mails and automate few things. Saturday is for reflection and planning and Sunday is free. I can do this because I have a great wife who does every other things and she enjoys doing those.

I work at my desk somewhere in the neighborhood of 4 to 16 hours a day, 5 days a week. I wouldn't call it work though as I enjoy the work I do online.

I tend to work about 6 hours per day on weekdays and maybe 2 on weekends. A nice and light schedule! It varies though.

But when I'm working, I'm working. I don't count forum time and such as work.

I'm at about 6 hours per day, 5 days per week.

I hope you're not working on your own business at your day job, even after hours... good way to get fired or lose your intellectual property.

It can vary from 5-10 hours per day. This is the great thing about the Internet Lifestyle you get to choose when and how long you want to work.

The # of hours spent can be a very misleading figure. I get more done when I dump all of my energy in 4 hours than I do fiddling around for 8. It takes time for a person to build up the personal energy and mental capacity to focus for 8 hours straight. Usually their energy and focus will wane and the last half of the day is anything but productive.

I recommend you read the book "The Four-Hour Work Week" I can't explain to you in a short post why the 'results by volume' approach is unnecessary but this book does. Once you apply it, you'll never go back.

I don't really have a set hours of day, I have projects that need to get done. Sometimes that means pulling an all nighter, and other times I get a day off. I learned long ago that keeping balance is important to maintaining my energy, and creativity.

Also I set aside time everyday for research purposes, the topics might vary but there related to IM, I think it's important to continue to expand one's skill set.

Very nice comments from the OP and its the reason the corporate world frustrates me. Its all about posturing and working the system to get ahead. Employees look to get ahead and get promoted by doing things and taking actions that aren't necessarily (and sometimes opposite) of whats in the best interest of the company they are working for.

As an entrepreneur, you get the rewards of your hard work, so you are incentivized to work hard, not have face-time and posture your boss, etc

But as for working hours....my business is a roller-coaster. I work extremely hard for weeks and then take it easy for weeks. Over the course of the year I will have 120 hour weeks and 2 hour weeks. I wouldn't change it for anything!!
