Well done. I have had some success with Clickbank. I like that fact that you got all your traffic from search engines and other free sources. PPC starts eating into your profits fast.

Certainly. I would be happy to:

1. It DOES take patience and persistence. Find something you are passionate about and something you believe would be of value to someone else. Internet Marketing (or ANY marketing for that matter) is a situation of Problem vs. Solution. The buyer/customer/client has a problem and YOU know how to provide him or her with a solution. Pretty easy. The more in demand the problem, the more lucrative (ignoring your competition for a moment) your solution.

2. Take action! If you have a site or blog or opt-in list, great... now it's time to put it to use! Start pushing those affiliate links or those 'Add to Cart' buttons. Do it now! If you created a site and a product, great... pay your $49.95 to Clickbank and get those 'Add to Cart' buttons on your site NOW!

3. There are many different possible sources of traffic. Time to start thinking outside the box. When a prospect of mine is using my trial version, how hard is it for that prospect to figure out how to get back to my site and buy the FULL version? I figured out the hard way that it is actually 'pretty damn hard' for the prospect to get back to my site when they have credit card in hand and ready to click Pay Now. YIKES! Not a good situation to be in! One day it hit me, add a 'Click here to order now!' to the menu bar of the trial. That's right, the menu bar at the top of my program literally reads: File | Setup | Help | -->Click here to order now!

I added a few lines of code (very easy to do) to make the program open the user's preferred browser and go to my order page when 'Click here to order...' is clicked. Heck, I can even add my tracking IDs to it!

It was so simple and so brilliant that I was kicking myself for not doing it years earlier. More than a few prospects have purchased this way.

4. That's one of the important keys: Laser focused traffic. I am more likely to get conversions from someone that clicked the order link in the trial version than someone casually searching for my keywords on Google. With that it mind, laser focused traffic has MUCH more weight than general traffic.

That's about it... so far. ; ) I average approx. 1,000 page views a month. Pretty tiny. But again, I have the luxury of some of that traffic being laser focused. : )

Again, there is like a 1,000,000,001 (billion and one) things I HAVEN'T done yet. There is a massive amount of work ahead of me. It will keep me busy forever. : )

So anyone struggling to make their first conversions, get out there and take action.

Like Gary Vaynerchuk said: '... Come home from work, have dinner, pet your dog, kiss your wife: from 7:00 to 2:00, you can do damage.'

My case: See...I used adwords on a xmas lightning business pack I was selling. No one bought it. Although, I was able to have 28 subscribers within two weeks period. Now, I'm stuck with that number, not knowing where to go from here. The will is there. The right technique is what's missing, i guess.

I haven't built out anything on Facebook or social media. I post to Twitter, get mentioned or re-tweeted occasionally, but I don't get traffic from that. So in my case, twitter isn't successful for me... yet. ; )

Good question. Answer: Averaging $100/day in 2011. $36,500 in sales by Dec. 31st.

I'm planning to 'scale it up' and offer as many products as possible. My first product is just the beginning.

I had more modest goals written down... sort of like milestones in a really big project. But, life is too short for that. Better to set a really challenging, yet attainable goal. This year will be exciting.

Well for one, you should make it a vocation to think positively and stop procrastinating. I agree, you can do better. Much better!

@Ross Yes, I need to create a logo/banner. I have some tools to do it, but I don't specialize in graphic design. I will be in touch for sure. : )

@donhx It took me years to reach this point. One of my greatest successes came recently in September. I had $319 in sales in 30 days. If I were doing that month after month, I could cover: electric, water, natural gas, cable and Internet for my family each month, no sweat.

It's only onward and upward from here.

  Where '1' is your product number (you can have up to 500 products); and 'abc123' is your tracking ID. : )
