It's a good "book" it's actually a speech that Allen gave. It does have you look at things differently. Look at some of my past posts and I talk about the speech/book here in the mind warrior section.

This book is brilliant. The advice is simple but very empowering. Check out "Think and Grow Rich", 'How to Win Friends and Influence Poeple", and "The Psychology of Persuasion" after it.

As a Man Thinketh is a great book.

Here are a coupl ethat are similar in nature and basic concept. they are presented from the individual's viewpoints but some of the ideas are the same.

"The Game of Life and How To Play It" Frances Scoville Shinn

"The 4 Agreements" and "The 5th Agreement" Miguel Ruiz

"You Can Heal Your Life" Louise Hay

      "The Alchemist" Paulo Coehlo

Ahhh, of the great self improvement books, 'How to Win Friends and Influence People' is one I've read. My only friend in the world knows I've read this and I owe thanks to that person. "Thanks Mom. Has anyone called me yet?"

Oh, there's my brother too. Only I don't know where he's living these days. But I'm sure he'll pay my loan back

Excellent read, and I recommend it highly. I just bought "Self Improvement 101" by John Maxwell, and it is a great, quick read as well.

I listened to an audio recording of As a Man Thinketh. I thought it was okay, but it certainly wasn't life changing for me. Perhaps because I've heard the message before? Or perhaps different people 'get it' from slightly different explanations.

In terms of changing my mindset the most,
    Zig Ziglar's Goals,
Brian Tracy's book The Secrets of Success,
    Think and Grow Rich
and finally.... not a commonly quoted book, but one I've gone back to many times,
Ruben Gonzalez's The Courage to Succeed -- story of his becoming an Olympic luger when he hadn't heard of luge until he was 21.

Earl Nighingale's famous recording "The Strangest Secret" was a life-changer for me...almost 25 years ago. (The recording was first released in the 1950s.)

You become what you think about.

I recently got an audio recording of 'As a Man thinketh'.I've listened to it a few times and I find the more times I listen to it the more I pick up little gems of information. It's something you have to read or listen to again and again to really absorb all the gold it contains.

I think you need a self help book that's updated to the 21st century. Things have changed, the rules ae no longer the same.

Yes things have changed in the world but the concept is still the same. Morals and believes are pretty much the same. Negativety verses positivity is still the same. Living right or wrong is still the same, and so on and so on...
