OK - I Admit It, I am a "Guru-WANNA-BE"

Hello Warriors,

Like many of you I am immersed into various
self-help, psychology, and new age literature
in order to expand my marketing skill-set and
prowess.

With that being said, I have come to the
realization that I have become, what I would
like to coin as, a “Guru-WANNA-BE”.

By that, I mean that I WANT TO BE a Guru.

You may have heard of this common phrase:

“Fake It Till You Make It”

And that is exactly what I am setting up for
my business.

That means my latest products, launches,
customer support, etc will be shifted to a
“Guru-WANNA-Be” perspective.

And you know what, I bet that in 12-18 months
from now it will all be worth it.

Can’t wait to look back at this thread a year from
now.

Truly,
Craig Michaels

I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to be big in the business. It's a real good goal to have. But to say that you are going to promote yourself as a Guru Wannabe seems like a bad decision in my opinion.

I would continue as you have, and let your products, words, and whatever else you are into speak for themselves. Reputation is a hard thing to gain, and IMO is best gained naturally.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

    Yes, I agree.

This post wasn't meant to position myself
from a marketing angle as the "Guru-WANNA
    -Be".

More so, I wanted to open up a discussion
about the idea that perhaps the only difference
between the million dollar marketer, and the
one who can't even earn his first sale is the
    mindset.

And also perhaps to reveal some sort of formula
    to success.

Simply put, if you keep following what the rich
are doing, by logic shouldn't you eventually
    generate their same results?

    Truly,
    Craig Michaels

Go for it. One just got to dream big to make it. I hope in a year from now you can remove the WANNA-BE from the phrase and just have "Guru". You can achieve a lot in a year if you set your mind to it.

I do not know about a formula, but i do know my old pop said to me one day about how he thought about being successful and well respected, his reply was that he did not have the ability to rate himself as respectful or successful, and that those words could only be offered by those around him in view of what he had done in his work.

Or in better words you do not have the ability to rate yourself a guru or even that you are a guru wanna be, and only by walking the walk can and only then may others around you judge you, for it to be judging yourself ? well one could deem themselves Willy wonka of the chocolate factory if one wishes and as such fantasy is all that prevails.

    I understand, others make your
    reputation, not you...

Surely, you can carve out the
    reputation you are aiming for
    though.

Nothing wrong with being a “Wanna-be” anything. (I prefer “Internet Guru In The Making.”)
    :-)

Sometimes when you're starting out people may try to drag you down. Just look at it like a “test” to prove your worth.

Good luck in your endeavours Craig.
