Why should you focus on things you can control?

Hi all,

I discovered that in life we are sometimes trying to change things we have no control. That is very frustrating. When we consciously focusing on the things we can control, like how we think how is this business is going to turn out when i put in effort and not quit.Rather than thinking if whether other people will like my product or will come back to my website.

What do you think?

The only thing you can control is your state. Period.

You do your best and like chris said you can control your state. Everyone needs to have a positive outlook and keep your head up. It is what my wife tells me all the time.

Postive things come to those who continue to keep a positive outlook on life. Success first starts with the mindset you have. Like you said you are waisting time worrying about things you have no contriol over.

    Just my 2 cents.

    God bless,

We can't control how others perceive us, but what is more important is how we think of others. Its hard to try and please everyone, and we don't need to. We can control the way we think and feel and that is our job, to be feeling good!

I agree with the people above. All through out my life, I had a friend named Nick, who happened to always be hitting a 'wall' of some sort, either in his life, or in IM. He always asked me what I was doing, and I finally just told him to fix his attitude, because mine is always positive and confident, and it works well. Why think on the downside?

Well said! Attitude is everything. It's really the only thing we can control in life. We can either stay positive, keep our heads up and keep going forward, or get stuck in a negative head space and fall down. The choice really is ours.

Thats correct, as mentioned by some members. Attitude towards things is the only thing which is going to decide your future and it is totally controllable.

A positive focus will give greater control, to the things one wants to accomplish

After reading several books on personal development, the key message that comes across from all of them is that there is only one thing that we have 100% control over and that is our thoughts.
