Life has it's ups and downs. Just don't dwell on the downs. That's how I like to live my life at least.

Try to learn what the lesson is in the disappointment and move on (with the goal of not repeating the lesson again).

Don't dwell on it for even a minute if you have the strength. Here is a common occurrence as an example.

You recieve a Bill and you are dissapointed. Sure, you may need to start calculating your budget a bit, but you must not let a Bill disappoint you for too long because, "You" and "Me" and "We" will always get Bills forever and notice how they will all eventually get paid anyway!

It might not get paid today or next week, but in 6 months 99% of that Bill will have been paid in full, and if you look back after this time at how much you dwelled and got disappointed over it, you'll find that it was a total waste of time and energy.

Whatever it may be, you need to get over it fast and move on because there is a beautiful life ahead and let me add on to this...

Almost 100% of centenarians will tell you that when they faced an issue in their life, and even during the worst part of their lives, they didn't dwell too long over it and moved on as fast as they could by thinking of other things, basically just thinking of the good moments they had in life instead...

Not everyone has the strength to do so, I understand, but for those that did, lived a stress and anxiety free, long, happy, and healthy life!

Boy, this is really a topic and a half.

Disappointment can devastate a person's success. I know what it feels like to look at your sales and see $0 after $0. You put in extra work, even more than you did in recent months, and that number doesn't change.

I think disappointment needs to be put into perspective. Many people say it's a chance to learn. Well, I like learning, but sometimes the lesson is not so obvious. Other times, you think you have it, adapt to it, but still see $0 after $0 despite your efforts.

You reach a point where you think you might as well give up on "the dream" of having a successful, high-paying internet business. Yet you keep looking for answers. You try different things. You get excited all over again when you come across something that seems so obvious you just couldn't fail.

      And yet you do.

      Now THAT is disappointment.

That's when you really have to sit back and let it all sink in, rather than forging ahead in desperation. Because in that state, you will not think things through thoroughly enough. You are more inclined to jump onto new ideas before you've established what is holding you back or even if they'll work in your particular case.

Your confidence certainly will be failing at this point.

      What do you do?

You take a break. You get away from the computer. You take time to relax and refresh your mind, relieve the stress and anxiety that comes with disappointment and frustration.

There are things you can do to relax, like playing a game of squash, taking a hike in the forest, go cycling or walking around your neighborhood or spend some time at the community pool or library. Go to the park and watch a local ball game. The key is to get away because as long as you are facing the "problem", the disappointment, you will keep thinking about it and feeling worse.

Take a day, a weekend, or whatever time you need to wind down.

Allow your thoughts to wander. If it happens, allow in thoughts about your disappointment. Try to determine it's cause. If it's failing to succeed with your business or a particular task, turn your attention to where you have succeeded. In other words, take stock of your progress and success.

It also can help to find like-minded people (other internet marketers) who you can talk with over coffee. Discuss different aspects of IM, the problems people have and how they overcome them. Just talking to people like this can have a huge impact on how you feel.

I suffer disappointment often. Today, in fact, when I checked my CB sales. I made $1.27 in the last pay period. Pay period after pay period it shows that I didn't reach my threshold to get paid. Over the past 2 months, I pumped out 75 articles but it had no effect. Nothing changed. Now that's disappointing.

The thing to keep in mind is that nothing stays the same. Keep working. Keep trying new angles, new ideas, or new (whatever you're doing) and eventually you'll find the solution.

      That's my plan, anyway.

On a bad day, I sulk.

On a good day, I pick myself up and try again.

Fortunately I have more good days than bad days!
