Forget and Detach Yourself From The Failures of The Past.

Failure can be devastating, it can be heart wrenching but you must learn to possess a strong will, mindset and character to see your failure no more as a set back but as an opportunity for you to start all over again and make things better and more beautiful. An African proverb from Nigeria says "Ile Oba Ti O Jo Naa, Ewa Lo Bu Kun", meaning, "When the palace of the King Burns, it is an opportunity for us to build him a far better and beautiful palace". So you see, it is your outlook towards failure that matters, learn to draw strength and courage from failure, failure possesses two forms of energy, the depression energy (which most people dwell upon) and the Anger, Fury and Combat Energy; the latter is the other energy form of failure successful people draw upon, they turn the anger and fury into a, rallying cry and call to action to start all over again and get things right.

You need to understand, there are over seven billion people on the face of planet earth, thus why should the universe, the planet or nature keep standing in the path of a man that is hell bent on achieving his goal, there are other mortals out there that will always give up without a fight, so why stop one mortal, when there are billions of individuals that will succumb without a fight. Time matters to everyone, including the universe, why waste precious time trying to continually lock down a man that knows what he wants from life.

A chinese proverb says "without failures, you become relaxed and content with your state, and sooner or later your enemies will devour you", Ancient Chinese warrior "Sun Tzu" (read the Art of War), was always happy to welcome a fight, for he knows failure in battle gives him room to restrategise and grow stronger; and when Sun Tzu wins, he learnt to assess the failures of his opponents and strive not to repeat such mistakes in battle, using these strategies consistently, Master Sun Tzu became the most feared and revered warrior in the whole of Ancient China.

So, learn to draw upon the positive energy of your failure, for it only makes you stronger and better.

Keep Striving, Keep Believing, Never Give-Up. Winners Don't Quit, and Quitters Don't Win.

    This is truly inspiring advice.

All too often we dwell on our failures day in and day out and beat ourselves up over our inadequacies.

The biggest favour we can do for ourselves in times of dissapointment, failure or defeat is pick ourselves up and find something which we are really good at to focus on. This does not mean that we have to make life-changing decisions but we do indeed need to stop moping and find something to take our minds off our misery. In other words, take action!

We don't always immediately know why we have faced adversity but the obstacles on our path are usually placed there to equip us to assist others who may find themselves in similar negative circumstances.

How inspiring is it to know that the light at the end of the tunnel of our personal failure equips us to pick others in similar circumstances up and provide the crutch they need to find the light at the end of their own tunnel!

Failure is part of the process. Whenever you first attempt something it is going to be awkward.

Success is made up of so many failures. It is learning to get up once we have fallen that makes a man or woman a great success.

Another point to make about failures in the past, is one of taking responsibility.

If it was your 'fault', take responsibility!
It may be you simply need to take responsibility for you being in that place at that time.

Taking responsibility is great as it tells your brain that you are also responsible for the future!

Great post! I once read that the hardest person to forgive is ones-self. When you learn to forgive yourself, you give yourself permission to try things just for the sake of the experience and not for a specific outcome.
    To your success,

I don't how you can succeed without failing along the way. It's part of the process, and necessary, not optional. how you deal with it is another story.

Another point here - once you do dust yourself down and move forwards, do not expect that failure to be your only one!
In fact you should be prepared for *more* failures, and that's good. It's good because it shows you are taking action, it shows you are closer to your goal rather than further away.

      Cheers,

We must let go of past failures or we will carry such a burden we may never succeed. It's too heavy a load to carry. Just learn from our mistakes and move on - leave the bad (and embarrassing) memories and experiences behind. Concentrate on the positive while moving forward.

Thanks for commenting on this thread I started. Well said Eddie47, we need to let go of the past and look forward to the future, it can be tough, but must we must. Times of failures serves as a true test of character and we need to be tough in mind and body to make it through during these tough times. Also, we need to pray to God Almighty for guidance and strength.

I think the best way to deal with past failures is to learn from them....I heard from tony robbins or was it les brown I can't remember hahaha It was one of giants that gave advice on how to properly correct children when they do something bad. Most parents say "go to your room and think about what you did", instead of the correct way of doing this should be "go to your room and think about what you could have done right"

I think this resonated deeply with me when it came to understanding failure and learning how to embrace and dissect it in order to benefit me. I'm curious what fellow warriors think?

@ PositiveCharlie, true you have a point there, our parents and society did not teach us how to embrace failure and draw energy/wisdom from it. The society abhors failure and they look down on failures, thus, a lot of folks are too scared to even try, the last thing they desire is to fail and get rejected by society. I've been there, I know how it feels. But, once you understand how to deal with failure, you will always take challenges head on, for it only makes you better.

This is awesome and it is so true. I've learned from experience.

I'm the type of person who argues a lot, and for a long time i use to pick fights with people HOPING they could defeat me in a debate/argument. Every time I was defeated, I just used what I learn to work on my attacks and learn how to read people. It's been a very long time since I lost and argument with anyone I don't know why I never thought of doing that in other aspects of my life. I'm so jazzed to start my marketing plan now! SPARTAAAAAAA!!!

Failing in life is very important because without being failed no one can be successful. The ones who think that they had passed all problems of life without being failed are the greatest failures. So, forget and detach yourself from the failures of the past.

It's always nice to have a positive attitude ...and learn how to accept that some things are just bound to happen. It makes the whole recovery from a devastating situation much easier. It's just sad how some people couldn't handle pressures and failures that they try to cut their life short or have a defective coping mechanism.

    Thanks for posting this one!

Failure I guess is a dreadful word and it can mean different things to different people. It can mean the path to success. It can also mean that we have learned some lessons along the way. Or it can be just an experience.

While it is hard to "forget" the "failures", we can choose to remember what good things have come out of these experiences - perhaps we have become wiser?

Wouldn't that be growth? Would that be worthwhile?

I've learnt how to embrace failure...and in the process I've transcended the constricting web of fears and doubts. We just have to do our best. That's all...No one gets it right all the time.

We're imperfect, so it's a ''natural'' part of our stories. And, though it's painful, we often learn more when we fail.

    Thanks for sharing your insights.
