Do you know your Work/Study ratio?

Because the internet is an information monstrosity, it is easy for people to get caught into a cycle of frequent "learning"... this can however create a negative effect on your business.

There is a ratio that needs to be considered which compares the amount of time you spend learning something with the amount of time you spend directly in action towards completing a productive measure.

When I first got into internet marketing, I studied almost non stop and never stopped to actually focus on application. Studying might have gave me knowledge, but I could be so much further in my business if I had balanced the ratio better.

The key is to find out what your ratio is and then do your best to constantly improve it. First find the 1:1 ratio by maintaining your time frames in 20 minute intervals. Use the first 20 minutes to study, prepare your mind, take notes, whatever. The next 20 should be directly applying the newly gained information, even if you are simply writing a journal entry about what you learned.

If you can constantly do this, you will eventually find yourself studying 20 minutes and working for 30, then 40, and so on. The more you increase the "do" part of the ratio, logically the more you can get done!

I want to know where you all stand on this. Do you sometimes find yourself doing too much learning? How do you find ways to "take action" that's immediate? I'd like to hear all of you guys and your thoughts on this!

I don't like to study much, neither do I spend much time on it. But yes, I do like to work, and I work for 4 hours a day

Thank you for this post. Information overload usually overwhelms one to inactivity. The ratio for me is 1:1 right now. I get excited with new releases. I am now applying what I learned one step at a time. The journey of a thousand mile begins with that one step as the ancient Chinese wisdom said.

I think most new internet marketers suffer from information overload and the facts based on observation say that the average internet marketer has a study to action ratio of 16:1 meaning that for every 16 hours of study they only take 1 hour of action.

Most successful 6 figure internet marketers are only studying for 1 hour and taking 12 hours of action.

Internet marketers who change just this one habit of increasing their study to action ratio to 1:1 (1 hour of study and 1 hour of action) will definitely reap the rewards.

This is one of those low hanging fruits everyone can grab.
