How Do You Get Your Mojo Back?

Everyone runs into a slump every now and then. So my question is how do you get your Mojo (Groove, Swagger, Confidence) back after a slump or dry spell.

Although I've found many ways to get mine back, one that works for me is reading the Book of Proverbs while eating fruit cocktail Jello and listening to James Brown Tunes.

Strange but it works to help me power out of a slump every time.

So, how do you get your Mojo back?

For me it just takes focusing on the right things and sticking to it. But I know it's difficult to do this if you don't have a clear picture of what really needs to be done.
In the IM world it's easy to get distracted and lose focus.

One thing that helps a lot is talking about things/issues with other people in the business and shoot ideas back and forth... or maybe even figure out a way to collaborate with others so you're not always doing things on your own.

collaboration - that's a great point. so often many of us in IM work at home, by ourselfs, day-in and day-out. it can be hard to stay on track and motivated in that environment. which is why I think many of us come here and chat with other IM folks online.

I just never allow myself to lose it. I might get out of touch with it, but I know it's always there.

I find that working out helps. I figure if I can gather enough positive energy to do that, then I can work my way back.

A little off-time usually reignites the drive. When you're doing what you love, it'll keep calling to you.

I usually take a break. Could be for a half hour or a couple of days. I usually have so many ideas during this time that I come back doubly passionate and driven.

Right on BRO, the blues guys KNEW how to keep their mojo workin'...

I saw Honeyboy Edwards last year... the guy is going to be 96 years old in June. I made him give me a kiss so that some of his mojo might rub off on me. Here's his tagline on his website: "The World Don't Owe Me Nothing"

If a client is giving me a bad time, I just put on the Allman Bros. "Tie Me to the Whipping Post" and crank it up full volume.

If I need a good dose of freedom music to lead me on, I blast some Derek and the Dominoes "Key to the Highway."

That gives me my mojo back.

If I'm feelin' sassy, I play Joan Armatrading's "I Can Walk Under Ladders."

      I'm diggin' this thread.

I just walk up to someone on the street and punch them in the face.

I prefer to look around in the streets and interact with as many people as possible. This helps me to regain my confidence and everything gets in their right place.

For me I read "8 to be Great". Which is a short book about the eight most common traits of successful people. I always think "I can do that" and it gets me back on track.
