Internet marketing in time of ressession (how to cope)

Its quite amazing to seem how the numbers of business going under are increasing by the day because of the tough economic situations. We all feel foulnerable, especially the ones who are just starting out in internet marketing. Many people have lost their jobs and are thinking of what next some have jumped into internet marketing which is a very wise bet.
Even as the whole economy is taking a toll, we can;t fail to acknowledge that some of our online businesses are feeling the pinch, but all in all what makes this business attrctive is that the over heads aren't too high, you can simply wisen up, write more articles. blogs and forum posts and get free and even more targeted traffic.
Even as the media keeps on blasting about how the economy is bad, you can't afford to loose your focus and your hope, one thing i do know is during such time, opportunities to make money are more, than ever before.
1.Student loan
2.Look at credit card debt
3.Mortgage loan repayment debt
4.Foreclosures
5.Earn extra income working online
6.Online job opportunities.
Amazing and most of the programs that offer such opportunities are PPL amazing! isn't it?
And many more, and what better place to be other than in the internet marketing field. many people have sought refuge in front of their computers trust me. there is always opportunity.
Even with a recession looming, we as internet marketers have no reason to loose, infact the playground has evened out.
Regardless of how you are feeling or what has happened to you, all that is just temporary, keep your faith, don't stop doing what you do best. You can make it trust me,
success is inevitable,
Whats your take on how to cope during such so called "difficult times"
I hope we would all be able to find the diamond in the rough.

I continue to develop my Prosperity and Success Consciousness. In other words I control my programming. I listen to Motivational/inspirational tapes. I read positive/inspirational books. I surround myself with postive people. I don't listen to the radio or look at the news. When I get up in the morning I program my mind for success. Before I retire at night I program my mind for success. In addition, I have a 5 disc cd player with speakers throughout my home. I have 5 subliminal cds that I listen to. 1)Prosperity2)Accelerated Learning3)Ideal Health4)Self-esteem 5)Enhance success. I click play before I go off into a deep sleep.

Internet marketing is actually positioned great for a recession!!

while many existing products will see (as clickbank themselves admits) have slowing sales, people looking for extra income, and looking to find new money after being laid off will be hunting the internet for the keys to success...

Just the other day I noticed the sign at a local real estate office.. "We have Foreclosures $30,000 and up.." Should be a hot market right now.

I agree with Bizbooks, IM should be a good place right now, long as people have the money to buy.

Yup especially for people in the make money online niche. A lot of layoffs poses great opportunities for people willing to show those people other ways to make cash to support their families.

One of the problems of trying to start up a business during a recession, is how the recession is likely affecting you. Your finances are probably tight, you're under a lot of stress, and you're under too much pressure to take the all the time you really need to figure things out.

But I totally agree that internet marketing is the way to go at a time like this. There's nothing easier if you do it right.

Here's a few tips I'm trying to follow myself that can help anyone in this position.

    1. To begin with, keep in mind that you can't afford to waste tons of money and time, chasing around all the latest and greatest business opportunities and hot new strategies, but never sticking with one thing long enough to make it work.

    2. You need to start by choosing a single good plan. One that is-
    • Simple- easy to start quickly, not too complicated.
    • Doable- by you, with your available technology, ability and know-how.
    • Low cost- so you can stay within an affordable budget until you start making money.
    • Low risk- don't blow all your assets on some ill-conceived whim you get too excited about.
    • Proven- something you know people are making money with every day, with good examples for you to follow.
    • Scalable- so you can start small (and cheap!) and then ramp things up when you discover what works for you.

    3. Then, stay focused on that plan. Avoid distractions as much as possible. Don't get bogged down with information overload. Stay away from all the product launch hype. Be disciplined, consistent, work every day, step by step to completion.

    4. Get your business as organized as possible from the very beginning, and stay organized. Maintain a good, productive work flow. Don't allow yourself to be slowed down by clutter and confusion.

    5. Don't give up! Be prepared to modify your plan as you go, as needed. And it's ok to have a plan B, in case your original plan just doesn't cut it. But whatever you do, keep at it until you succeed.

Yes....but - many new marketers will burn out quickly because they try to sell "make money" products when they've not made money online themselves.

Things that people need will continue to sell - doesn't have to be mortgages or foreclosures (unless you have an angle you will have stiff competition there) - doesn't have to be make money plans and products. Hobbyists, sports enthusiasts, pet lovers, gardeners - will continue to buy (at least those who have the ability to do so).

Look at what you buy, what your neighbors and friends are shopping for - search affiliate product sites other than clickbank to find products that are good and useful or that are especially well priced or unusual.

In a bad economy I would expect people to buy less "stuff" but still buy what they see as "solutions".

There are many ways to make money online to beat ressession. And IM is indeed the foundation to generate a huge income via the internet. Thats why Warrior Forum was created to teach and educate both newbies and experts new marketing skills and techniques to drive traffic to their website and generate a residual income.

Other than possibly selling products related to saving money, foreclosures, debt, etc., the best thing to do is to ignore the recession.

The only time I can really tell there is allegedly a recession is when I turn on the news. Can't tell from going around town- there is a normal amount of traffic, normal amount of people in stores and restaurants, theme parks are busy... guess those people aren't aware of a recession, either.

Plus gas is at a 5-year low, interest rates are low...

I agree with you guys. The economy is bad, we all know, but at the same time, I was watching a video yesterday and the guy said something true: the Internet is still in its infancy (only about 15 years old) so the best is still to come.

More and more people get online every day and most of them are trying to make a living off of it; and the wonderful thing about it is, we can do business anywhere on the planet. The sky is the limit.

Recession or not, there will always be people looking for a new way to make money, and learn things. Besides, no one needs a fortune to learn a few basic things.

      My 2 cents.

I'm just grateful for the opportunity to change whatever circumstance I happen to be in at the time. My 'regular job' ended Dec. 23. My company supplied GM. I am grateful for the free time I now have because I am able to focus on my IM business as I've never been able to do before.

I don't believe there is a recession for us IM'ers. In history, it is during economic down times that fortunes are made. Stock Market, Real Estate- am I right? This is our time to not see what everyone else is seeing. We must see opportunity and possibility because it's there waiting for us.

I believe that if we commit to help others in need:
    1. Showing the people we know how to make money online
    2. Offering solutions to the families directly impacted
we will look back and see that this down time in our history is when things really began to pick up. We need to be able to see all the opportunity that's available to us. And when we do, we'll see clearly that what the news reports cannot and will not negatively effect us.

In order to make money selling, you must sell what people want to buy and you must be able to find those people. Create a WOW factor for your product so people tell everyone they know.

Selling the sizzle is okay as long as you don't mislead people. There are so many worthless products on the net - all hype and no substance. To me, this is not being a true business person.

A lot of my business friends, on the net and off, have all reported a decrease in sales lately. Since we just had a holiday season, it is too early to tell if this is due to the holidays or the global recession. They are coping/compensating by upselling new product creations to their best customers who they know have monies to spend.

    WEll,
I am still a Newbie to the internet marketing, but for my opinion it is and will be the most successful marketing thing on our beautyful blue planet!!!
Its easy to reach, from almost everywhere on earth.
And the possibilities are quite unlimited!
So regression may be a theme in the offline market, but I don´t think it will be a big influencer of the internet market at all!
    God bless,

    Hello Omari Taylor here,

Well right now I continue to go to school. I'm on the traditional road to becoming a nurse but not very excited about it. What I am excited about is the people that are contacting me to start making money from home and the money I'm making.

So I guess you can say I'm coping with the situation in the United States pretty well. I'm seriously am not thinking about the economy because I know it is not going to effect me. 2009 is going to be a great year for me and I wish everyone the best.
