Started over from scratch!

Hey,

My name's William Tha Great, here from Houston, Texas.

Marketing is one of the toughest tasks for many people.

In my case, the first time around things never seemed to go as planned. All my attempts at marketing my blog seemed to go un-noticed. My fustration only continued to build. Many more things added to my fustration that were un-noticed at the time. For instance, when I saw successful bloggers it attacked my motivation. They had the comments, traffic, guest articles, and everything that made their blog professional.

If they could do it then I believed that I should of been able too. Thinking like that was a big mistake because for one, I could not see everything they went through to get to thier position. Secondly, one should never judge their success based upon another person's success.

For many new bloggers I believe this is a mjor problem and for me, well, it was huge! Too much fustration pushed me to throw in the towel.

Questions
  • Have you ever been victim to comparing your success to another person's success?
  • Are you having difficulty gaining the traffic you desire?
  • Do you find yourself pondering on what your doing wrong?
  • Do you find yourself thinking about throwing in the towel?
Back For Round Two!

After a couple months of well needed thinking time I am back at it again. This time with a totally different mindset. No more comparing my success to anyones. Instead of walking the same path as another successful person; I am completely focused on making my own path. There has already been a multitude of road blocks, but my motivation will always remain intact. Push through the ups and downs to keep yourself focused. Stay focused, look to take steps and good things will happen for you.

I would love to hear your thoughts!

The key isn't to compare your success with others, but rather to inspire yourself with their success. The truth is if they did it so can you IF you do what they've done to get there.

That is part of learning what's capable and being able to model yourself after what you know is capable.

I have a few people who I look up to and their success inspires me everyday. Their success builds my motivation. I can see how success could take it down, but it's all in the mindset.

It's good to hear you're bouncing back. That is a great sign of persistence and if you continue like that you will make the things you want to happen actually happen.

Just never let someone elses success become an envy or bring you down. Look up to it and try to rise to their level. Analyze what they do, their thinking behind doing these things, and put yourself in the position to do so as well. Finding a way into that lifestyle and adopting that perception will give you sight towards not only what can happen, but what will happen.

Hope that helps! Good luck to you
    Chris

The key is to stay determined. It take a while to build traffic. Set your objectives straight, plan well and implement your plan. Create a positive daily routine. Do not compare with others but compare with your objectives. You will gradually gain ground.
Also always fine tune your tactics and never stop learning.
    Simply don't give up.

    Hey everyone,

    Thanks for the awesome responses!

When you're on your journey to building your business one must never envy another person. Jealousy will only get you in a worse position than when you intially started. If you can't look at another person's success as inspiration then, I think it's best for you to focus on your own success. That way another person's success won't attack your motivation. There are always things you don't know, and many things that go un-noticed behind the scenes.

If you are a jealous person and you want to work on fixing it you need to...

    Practice, practice, & practice!

Ever heard the saying that practice makes perfect? Well, to have any chance at overcoming jealousy you have to practice restraining yourself from becoming jealous.

    Determination's your best friend!

This happens to be one of my favorite sayings, because when times are tough your determination to pravail will be all you have. To have any chance of reaching your destination you must always keep your determination high. Never let anything or anyone get in the way of you and you're success. Eliminate all distractions as it's neccasary to get where you want to be in life. You are the most important person in your life, so you should start focusing on bettering your position. Be deterimined to never back down in the face of opposition.

@workaholic1 - I completely understand where you're coming from. I hate when my parents compare me to another person. I'm not like anyone else, and I don't enjoy being compared. Many of my friends have familys & kids already, but just like you I have no girlfriend, and don't care for one. I'm focused on my journey, and I will not be distracted or tied down. You have to do whatever means to keep yourself focused at all times.

    Hope this helps!

I can't even count how many times I've started over. Life is a journey. Sometimes there are many twists and turns and you can get lost for a little while. But you eventually find your way back home.

      Here's to your beautiful journey!
