Creating Your Personal Business Image?

You know I see a lot of variations in the methods in which marketer's represent their products, services, or even personalize their own unique "character" into their marketing careers, rightly so.

Some sporting a very professional look (i.e. suit & tie) others just a t-shirt and a pair of shorts (if that!)...

Currently, I would definitely be more likely to fit in the latter category...(but no worries, I have clothes on...for now

However, when it comes down to brass tacks and seriousness of representing yourself and your business from your home office, poolside lawn chair, kitchen, Lazyboy chair...or where ever you prefer to conduct yourself and your business "online" especially...

Do you feel it's best to represent your business in a "be as you are" image?

or

Do you "dress it up" and deliver in a manner befitting of an "all business attire" representation?

I ask this from a "projected view" standpoint, and as a person interested in achieving long-term success by implementing honest and ethical business practices, and, in concern for "what works best over longevity"?

Truth be told, from a newbie standpoint I feel it's quite unclear which method holds greater value in the long term?

Plus, I am curious to weigh the answers from both beginners, and seasoned pro's.

I mean, there's people I admire like; Napoleon Hill who clearly stresses one should dress for success, yet look at Lady Gaga for example...I mean, really!

The fact is, I ask because...In a personal confession, I have elected my "extravert" 15 year daughter (who happens to be a social magnet) to be the "face" of my current marketing efforts.

Mind you,- we're still hashing out the contractual details, as she is demanding commissions (Plus...I'm not nearly as attractive)

In short, how I see myself now, is definitely not how I see myself in 2-3 years, or how I would desire to be remembered. Thus, this polling question beckons...

Use creative imagery until reaching that level of confidence/authority/ and appeal?

or

Just let loose, let it fly, and scream; "This is who I am now, take it or leave it?"

I am just curious to know; which do you think works best to achieve results?

Greatly appreciate your insight and your feedback.
