How I Started To See Success...

I haven't been on here for some time now, but I really been having some success.

My problem was I would jump from way of making money to another. As soon as I would either hit a wall, I would 'find' something that was 'better'. I realized I was so wrong. Once I told myself I am going to stick to one thing for 6 months no matter what, I finally gave myself a chance to succeed.

How to learn from my mistakes,

Pick one method, one niche, and stick with it for 6 months no matter what.
Spend less time learning and more time doing/working.
The more you give, the more get back.

That's a great way of thinking. I think we all should focus on one venture we can do. If we move to other things so soon, we wouldn't learn a thing.

What should one do if one has stuck to a method for YEARS and still not seen results?

Then move on to something else.

The rule to stick is the right one for people who never get anything really finished because they jump from project to project too quickly.

But very obviously it would be very bad advice to tell someone to stick with something that simply doesn't work.

With every project you have to evaluate continously if you did stick long enough to have reason to believe it can or can not work.

      • If you can reasonably say it's probably only not working because you have not done enough, then try more.
      • If you can reasonably say you've done enough but it's still not working, then it's time to move on.
This is something that can not be taught and can not be measured by hard facts or numbers. You just have to start taking action, see where it brings you, and decide on your own when to do more and when to quit.

      1. That seems pretty lousy if someone has not seen any results. They must approach the method with a fresh set of eyes.

      2. If you have truly been working at something with all your focus and it has not worked, maybe you should change!!!

        Here's my 2 cents worth ...

        Step 1: Plan
        Step 2: Execute
        Step 3: Repeat

I think a lot of people totally ignore step one in their eagerness to get to step two as they believe this is where the money is. The money actually comes from the proper execution of step one (and the REAL money is, of course, step three!).

Like the wise man said, "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail". ;o)

Stick to one goal and if you succeed and make some money out of it then you can hire someone and let them do job but of course with your supervision and then start the other project that you had in mind. This way you can help people without job and also help your business grow more.

I remember when I was jumping around from this amazing way of making money to the that one, all the while only losing money. It's a painful trap. But right now just like you I've decided to concentrate on only one technique for quite some time. And its always great to see someone have success so congrats on that!

Its good to stick to one project and see it succeed, but you can also weigh the options and see when to move on depending on the kind of effort and returns you are getting. But good things do not come easy, that I know.

Couple of things I would add is ...

Know your compelling reasons why you want it, what would it give you you currently don't have.
Whatever you want to achieve, break it down to 6 (10 max) steps.
Looking at your goal, what's the 6 things you must do to achieve what you want.
Prioritise them in their order of importance.
Then work on the 1st one, once that's completed go on to the next.
The most important thing anyone has to do, is monitor their performance, if your doing the samething over & over, getting the result you don't want, guess what your gonna get the same result.

Seems like everyone always hits this same mistake. It took me almost 6 months to realize what in the hell i was doing wrong! Great job for pointing it out to others...

Also people need to realize, you waste a lot of time "learning" You can only learn a certain amount, the rest you have to experience first hand and adapt to the reaction of the market place!

Nice! If anything you've learned that being persistant and of course taking ACTION is key to seeing any result. Even if its nothing at all you know right away what DOESN'T work and thats equally important.

I love the attitude you have about success. I'm sure that you'll go far with this attitude in all aspects of your life whether it be making money, or making the person of your dreams fall in love with ya, you're mindset is gonna take you places!

    Congrats!!

I totally agree. I found an awesome niche by doing the proper keyword searches ( which that alone was a learning curve for me as I realized I was keyword searching wrong for YEARS.) I literally just started, but I'm always improving my site, always learning and then implementing what I learned and using it. Gotta try at least, right? Once my one website was up and running, my husband thought I was just going to go to bed, and wake up in the morning and have money. I looked at HIM like he had ten heads- which is the way it needs to be. He now wants to do IM himself, but he doesn't have the mindset for it and he will fail. While I was breaking my back trying to make my website code the right way, you could hear my husband in the background, who had learned how to PROPERLY keyword research from me, just gasping over "oh's and ah's" at what he had found and even checking to see if .com's were available. His mindset is money. He even said "who cares about how your website looks, just get people to buy from you". *facepalm*.

When my site went viral, I was ( and still am) on the first page of google, but in the sixth slot AND not for my main site, but a page on my site. My main site is on the FOURTH page of google. He keeps asking me every chance he gets if I made any money yet. Yeah... 23 cents in adsense earnings.

He doesn't understand why I am revamping my site everynight, why I got getresponder, etc.

My whole point being is you REALLY have to work hard at this. I busted my arse for two weeks straight to see a whole 23 cent click on adsense. He said "big whoop". I said "keep going."

I agree - too many people spread themselves thin rather that getting good at something before moving on to something else.

I used to do the same in jumping from one thing to another. However, you don't find out what you enjoy until you try a few different things, i.e. blogging, authority sites, squeeze pages and email marketing..... This was the case for me anyway.
