I didn't really start living life as an adult I think until I graduated college and started working. 18 wasn't a huge landmark for me, and college felt like a continuation of high school. Once I got out and started making money though, I really expanded my interests, social circle, experiences, and party party partied for awhile. Eventually I toned down the partying and started focusing more on my actual hobbies and interests. Not that I don't still party.

I feel exactly like you, except I'm still in college. I party probably every other weekend, nothing too crazy. In less than a year I'll be 21 and I doubt I'll feel any different than I do now.

LOL! When I hit 18, I thought I was going to just leave my parent's house to do whatever I wanted. That didn't happen till I hit 25. Good times!

Congrats! Ha... I wasn't sure if the thread title "I am 18 guys!!" meant you were 18 years old or 18 individual people, lol...

When I hit 18 (wasn't that long ago... I'm 23) I really didn't do a lot. I've never had alcohol, don't have my driver's license yet (although I do ride a scooter) and I don't party a whole lot. Boring right? XD
But it did mean leaving high school and into the big scary world... where I ran back to school to do web design and animation.

Life didn't really start for me until a year ago when I realised I could be whoever I want to be.

Congratulations on your milestone! Yes, I actually did party, party, party at 18. In fact, looking back, when I went to college, I majored in partying. That didn't do me a lot of good and pretty much derailed my life for quite a while - I ended up dropping out of college. Like the Great Gordino, I lived in the dark ages before internet and cell phones... So have fun, but not too much fun!

18 Is a good age. Live it up my man! When I was 18 I moved by the beach, surfed every day, hung out with friends, and yeah, I partied just a little bit.

I would recommend having fun but balancing it with your personal growth... that's my life now and I plan on "staying young" forever by doing this. Happy 18 brother, Enjoy!

I turned 18 many years ago in a small US town. Back then everyone either got married or went to college - I choose college for a year, then got married. Should have finished college (did finish later). LOL!!!

As someone else mentioned, we did not have Internet at all - wasn't even on the radar. I was excited to have a 9 volt radio at the beach.

Looking back at my life at 18 and beyond, I suggest getting an education first - there is plenty of time to party later if that's what you want to do. But, your first step should be education, training, earning money to support your desires and habits, etc. - more important than partying your life away in the long run.

I started living life as an adult about a year ago. I'm 20 years old and working my way to a full time income online which is my goal by the end of the year. I have been doing internet marketing for about 7 months or so. First couple sites were a flop when i started but I'm slowly making more money as I create more sites and get more learning and implementing done. But I party a little here and there and recommend everyone do so as it keeps you from getting burnt out on IM. Good Luck and great thread.

18 is a great age but what you do with it will define who you are.
if you just want to party party party than thats what you will do, have fun
but why not take advantage of your young age and invest in yourself and education, IM is a great start. Imagine where you will be 2 years or 3 years from now with your IM. You will be wayyy ahead of your friends and peers.
But you should still party and have fun, blow out some steam. you don't want to regret it in 10 years.

Awh the good old day's of 18, saying that I'm not much older, 21 now! Although we all wish we could be young and carefree I've enjoyed the years I spent as a teen. I drank lots, had some crazy adventures and spent some loving time with my family. I think the main thing once I hit 18 was that i realised I know had responsibilities that I hadn't had before, Bills, relationships etc but I'm sure when I look back in 10 years they will seem like nothing to the responsibilities that I'll have then.

So enjoy it while you can buddy! I hope you have a blast!

Wtf? Are you kidding? Why is it that everyone says to go to college when you're 18? It's like the automatic response. Listen folks, college ain't the be all end all like it was 50 years ago. I mean look at all the college graduates for 2012....the stats are like 90% of them don't get a job in their major....or the end up working some menial job...or move back home with their parents.

I know so many college grads who have massive debt too. 3 of my buddies have over $100K in student loan debt. And for what? To say yeah I went to college and got my degree...only now I have this huge debt that is costing me $1500 a month to pay back in the next 20 years.

Still think going to college is a great idea? Just so you know, I went to college too...have double major in finance and engineering. If I had to do it all over again...starting at 18....I would've went into business for myself learning a skill that was in demand....and work as intern.,.....for free...or learn all I need to know from youtube videos...for free.

Imaging instead of $100k in debt from square one and spending 4-6 years of your life screwing around....you actually learned a valuable skill where you could work today and in the future.

I partied, partied, and more partied. All the time I was partying I did not realize that I was becoming a failure. That lifestyle will destroy anyone but if you are wrapped up in it, you do not see clearly!

My advice to you is get out of the party lifestyle and make something of yourself.

I know what that lifestyle can do to you and what you have to do to find your successful self when you get tired of sick of the parties. (And you will)

It was a shame for boys to go to club and to drink fanta or coca cola so I like Gin too much !! lol Party, alcohol and smoking isn't the best thing to do when you are 18... you must find something that dont harms you and the others, you got to think for your life now !!

When I was 18, I didn't party much, I was focused on going to the University of Utah. I had my driver's license for 2 years all ready, my own car, my own job, my own place...once I graduated high school of course.

I was all ready practicing my adulthood for 2 years before I turned 18! LOL...my awesome 3.8 GPA gave me many freedoms. As long as I gave my Mom A's, I got freedom.

Great inspiring thread. Because the world is your oyster when you are 18!

I was that age more than 30 years ago but gosh just thinking about it gives me a kick!

I had a party when I was 18 and it was the first party i ever hosted and it was a success.

It was the middle of a huge recession and it was hard to even get a fast food job. A friend's sister came over and asked me if I wanted a job making well over min wage and i said sure.

Well she took me with her and it turns out she was a stripper. hahaha I was so naive then i didn't know anything what a stripper was.

So i tried it and made tons of money and quickly got my first apartment.

I had to keep it a secret as back then it wasn't so mainstream like it was today.

I had the time of my life. It was such a blast.

When I hit 18, I was in my senior year of high school. I didn't have good grades, was extremely depressed, but luckily I had met my beautiful girlfriend Jocelyn. We've been together for about 5 years now (I'm 23).

I'm not really a party person, but I do go out. 18 just wasn't all that wonderful to me personally. I think instead of partying, you could focus a bit on building yourself up in this industry, see how far you can get in 1 year. You wouldn't imagine how awesome it is. I don't know your experiences, but I can say that there are some 18 year olds out there that are millionaires. I'm not a millionaire, but if I had just partied nonstop, I wouldn't be where I am today. I tried the whole partying thing and all I met were people who really didn't care to do anything.

But again, we all have our own experiences. It's your life, live it

NOTE: Regarding the whole college ordeal. It all depends on what field you want to be apart of. If you want to be a doctor/lawyer/politician, go to college. But if you want to be successful, think about what it is you want to do and be serious about it. Do you truly need college to be successful in that field? Most likely not.
