I don't know about you, but the one thing that has led to my success more than anything else is my ability to see failure as a stepping stone and not get mired down by it. With that said, I'm far from perfect, and there have been times when my perception of an event has been tarnished by failure. Yet somehow, I've found that picking myself back up and starting again has always helped.

When you don't let your ego get tied up in failure, you are more eager to accept the wisdom of other people. Not advice - anyone can give advice. Wisdom comes from people who've been there, done that, and can let you know what worked and what didn't. But you still are the ultimate decision maker in your life.

Our greatest teachers are those difficult situations and those difficult people we meet in our lives. They provide us with many opportunities to discover more of who we really are.

Many people stumble when faced with obstacles in their lives. Successful people are challenged by them, learn how to cope, and move ahead.

I agree. I also think it's a sign of maturity to be able to admit when you're wrong.

Good insight. I agree. Failure is only wasted if you don't learn from it. Learn what went wrong and how you can change it. Then you can be on the road to success and help others avoid the same mistakes.

Kristie, Being able to start over after failing at something is difficult, yet it shows resilience and faith. It is a given that you will fail at first, but as long as you have a goal in mind and know exactly what you want to achieve, you will reach that goal and see success

    Thanks!!

For me that's the most important "success secret" I've ever discovered. The power of turning failure into success (by learning from it) is phenomenal. And makes it much easier to take risks and bounce back.

    Thanks for the reminder Kristie.

Thanks for sharing. My view on failure is that it is a STATISTICAL NECESSITY for getting success.

Which is very similar to yours. After all, life is a number's game

life is based on decisions .. I have seen the rock bottom and I guess that is my greatest advantage .. I don't regret anything!

Now I am making a pretty good amount of money through IM .. but it has taken me years to reach this point

If you've never failed .. You've never lived!

I believe the only true failures are those who give up. If I counted how many times I screwed up or failed at something, I would probably have given up long ago. It is in the regrouping, reworking, and renewing our desire to succeed that keeps us going and that helps us to eventually achieve success.

Some people are afraid to fail because others may see them as inadequate. I say forget the naysayers because you are attempting to do something that half the population won't even try.
