Learn two skills to rule the world

1. Vivid mental imagery & imagination

2. Inspirational public speaking before large crowds

With these two skills honed you can rule the world.

Few people have honed either alone. Those who have are perceived as great, very important people or leaders. Most politicians are good speakers and a few are great orators but they lack inner vision.

Tesla and Einstein, and many great artists have had superb imaginations but lacked oratory skills.

If you train and master both - the world is yours.

I think those are 1940s skills.
Today, you need to be richest and famous (either way).

The skill of public communications in front of crowds can be important (as that is what I do) but depending on the field that you want to be in, large crowds may not be the only type of audience. In many fields, it's the smaller crowds especially in seminar settings or workshops that will be the more important type of audience to be comfortable in. And being a speaker, there are different effectiveness levels for each type of audience.

For myself, I'm better with bigger audiences and not as comfortable with smaller settings. Many speakers have the opposite feeling. So these have to be matched with whatever works best in your field. Of course, you can develop the skills to be a good speaker in any size audience but you will always have a preference on your best type of audience.

You're neglecting the importance of communicating between only one or a small group of individuals. That's just as important as being able to move a large crowd.

Gareth, there is real meaning in the traits meantioned. How many men who have had these qualities, went on to rule respective contries, continents and the world (or some part of it)? Look back and you will find them, some good and some bad.

Don't think it's applicable anymore. Nowadays if you have a good idea (usually about doing something online) and work hard for it, you can build a fortune on the internet and rule the world without the second skill...

I agree. The importance of public speaking cannot be over emphasized. To become a great and pursuasive speaker one should study both hypnosis and NLP.
