Player Mindset - Who Are The Experts?

Hi

Today at work we watched a presentation about player vs victim.

The guy presenting it was probably a big name corporate speaker from Argentina who appeared to have been through the Tony Robbins school of slick presentation and ability to persuade our corporate leadership to pay him tens of thousands of dollars for a day of stating the obvious.

He was presenting in Boston, but I'm sure that he will be a regular across the corporate america scene, and it would be cool if someone knew what his name was.

I've never heard of it. But can you explain to us what you mean by the player vs victim concept?

When something goes wrong in your life who do you blame?

If you know that a journey in the car takes 30 minutes, but you only allow 25 and arrive 5 minutes late what is your excuse? Victims would blame the traffic as it's a feasable excuse, rather than admit they didn't leave enough time.

In terms of business a victim will buy an ecourse, do some of the work, get no results and blame the course owner.

On the other side players will realise what the problem is, take responsability and put a positive spin on things. If they buy a course they will either request a refund or keep on going with a course until it does become profitable, they won't blame others for their failure.

It's a lot more complicated than this, but it should give you an idea of what it means.
