Creating Creativity...
I have seen a number of posts bemoaning the fact that someone is having trouble coming up with a "New" idea.
First, is there such a thing as a "New" idea, or are most new ideas simply spins on already existing concepts?
Secondly, if you have a different idea, how do you develop "Newness" for the idea?
Newness is a concept that (in my opinion) can be highly over-rated. How often have we seen almost identical programs, ebooks, and especially articles that are almost identical (some are identical), or have the exact same information, but are packaged and spun differently. Many actually make money. I guess "Newness" is in the eye of the beholder.
In the real world we buy cars. How different are they really? Some are more reliable that others, some go faster and are more fun to drive (certainly a "Biggie"), but they all have engines, four wheels, and (most) all still use gasoline for fuel.
Are most things REALLY new, or do they just give the illusion of being new?
As with anything, some people just seem to have the "Gift" of seeing things in a new way. Others (myself included) work a little harder at it. One thing that I do is to look at several of these "New" ideas on the same subject and see what and how information is being presented. Then I look for what is missing. Maybe its humor. Maybe it lacks some specifics. Then I go from there.
So Warriors, what do you think?
