How the heck did people achieve success BEFORE self-help books and seminars?

I'm sure everyone would agree that success predates books and seminars.

So, how did people achieve it when all these "gurus" weren't around?

Next question, how many self-help books do you REALLY need to achieve success?

PS: I'm a big sucker for another book / course / seminar / WSO so this is not something that just naturally occurred to me. That's the stuff from Jack Zufelt's book and video at DNAofSuccess.com.

    really good questions but with no answer i think it is like saying what come before, the egg or the chicken ?
    i think you are right, success come from inside of each and every one. the only trait that are the same to each successful person is they take the risk to take action.

    Well, it was the same then as it is now: aspiring marketers who focused their energies, learned the skills and applied themselves diligently went on to achieve success. And the daydreamers made excuses and went back to their daydreaming.

    ...And then ... the successful people said, "Hey! Why don't we write a book about our "Secrets to Success" and we can sell THAT too!" ... and they did.

    Good point. Books are a mode of sharing knowledge. It's not necessary to read books for success. But books and/or seminars make the sharing of knowledge, experience and views easier. May be only 1 line of a book will give you life changing idea.

    They just had to struggle more... We all have the benefit of learning from their mistakes and hopefully not making as many. This should cut our learning time in half, but I've still found that I make mistakes. Finding coaches and mentors definitely is a huge benefit that we have over the olden days.

    Although the self help books and seminars were probably not in existence, the people who achieved massive success in the old days were using the same principles that are described in self help books. For example, successful people in ancient times still had mentors and teachers. They still learned from others who were successful.

      people are different, each of different levels of understanding and wisdom. some gain enlightenment through their own efforts and wisdom. others need guidance by predecessors to open their minds and catalyze the process. self-help books will benefit those in the latter group.

    Persistence, the need to achieve something great and a great deal of luck.
    Trial and error at that time was also the way of the old timers.
    And great numbers of them was in need of money and they want to make more than what they've been doing normally.

    Frank Kern hires a guy for $600 to make him an e-book about dogs that grew over a million dollars in 1 year and one of the most successful IM (semi-retired).
    Jeff Walker was ready to take a new career when he decided to become an IM and created the Product Launch Formula that became the standard for launching of products.
    Successful gurus but they all have the same reason why they started IM, and why WE all started in IMs To have a better life for ourselves and our family and to help people along the way.

    There are people these days that are worth quoting too, like Warren Buffet (his lifestyle is a demonstration of his innate life philosophy, like once a year auctions for private lunch with Mr. Buffet).

    I would like to point out that history does repeat itself, and the best way to make it work is to learn from the past. Hang out with people 2 generations older and you will learn a lot.

    There are a lot of people who achieved success before self help books and such. You have to think of it like this, if we never had someone to learn all the stuff to make it this far, well we wouldn't even be discussing this.

    Back before self help books, people believed in themselves just because they could. Thus, they were successful.

    Then, people started writing books about how they were successful. Readers who did not think the same way as the author felt they were failures as they thought differently (and were less successful since they didn't write a book).

    The human psyche is a wonderous and often confusing thing, am I right?

    Many of us spend way too much time reading, following numerous others, and thinking we need to learn even more before we begin taking action. Those who came before us and accomplished what they did, certainly had their own trials and errors to go through. But many of us do as well because we get side-tracked by the latest so-called guru who is just trying to sell us something that newbies don't realize is a rehash of a rehash of a...

    I agree wholeheartedly that it is the action-takers who accomplish the most. Those who choose to share their learning experience with us are to be commended. Others who make their online income by piggybacking the originals are just bottom feeders, no matter how much money they earn. If they can live with that, so be it!

    My respect goes to those who are succeeding by following their heart (gut instincts?) no matter how long it takes or what they have to do to reach their goal. What is really appreciated is when they take the time to help guide the rest of us along the way.

    -The Real Mentor Is The Face In The Mirror.....

    First I might mention that we're human, and because of that, we are endowed with certain qualities and features that concern our relation to our environment as experience for the psyche. We are cognitive beings, and because of that, we have the ability to recognize conditions of similar magnitude of presence. That means we can recognize patterns..


    So you might ask, how have people figured out how to do things to become successful at their endeavor, before there was a mentor or model blueprint?


    Honestly, Are you telling yourself that someone knows something that you want to know and you don't? Do you think you need a mentor to help guide you towards the promise land of financial success by way of online marketing? Want a mentor, look in the mirror.


    The Mirror

    Better sit down for this. In case you haven't figured it out yet, there's a certain quality feature that enables corporeal life forms to forge ahead regarding their survival, despite being out of touch with specific cautions or shortcuts of guidance.


    Think about it, who feeds the amoeba? Who feeds the virus? From the science that we do know, these organisms feed themselves instinctively.
    I say this to allude to the fact that the information needed for guidance is already around you, near you, and more importantly to know, within you. This concept regards and insight into ancient inner technologies that are concerned with the actuality behind reality.


    Ancient Technology

    Intrinsic inner sciences as expressed through numerous ancient cultures, have been saying the same thing for millennia, in regards to a fact that the knowledge of desired information is in itself, a living thing, and is readily available for mental digestion.


    In order to harness this living force, one must be capable of introspective behaviors that leave behind all prejudices, likes, as well as dislikes, that have been accumulated through an evolution of intermingling social experience.


    This prescription allows an individual to be able to act, rather than to just react to environmental impacts of circumstance. In other words, an individual must disable their capacity to be distracted away from reason and sanity, and encourage greater ability to be able to focus on relative harmonic attitudes of thought trend and interactive behavior. Simply put, shut up, be still, listen to your inner self, and get out of your own way. The information you need or desire will be attracted and come to you.


    The Face In The Mirror

    Say this to yourself; knowledge is a 'FEELING' and information is a 'Thought Trend'.

    I say this because you've seen the result of this story before. You ask a question; you get an answer.

    You go to school and get homework that you 'FEEL' you don't want to do; you find yourself in a circumstance of 'Thought Trend' regarding the realization of solution for the questions concerned with that homework to be answered.

    You're walking down the street and all of a sudden, you 'FEEL' hungry; the 'Thought Trend' solution comes to mind as to where you can find food to satisfy that craving.

    You're playing sports outside with your friends and you get overheated and 'FEEL' thirsty; somehow or another, the 'Thought Trend' comes to mind as to where and how you can get water to satisfy that thirst.

    You get horney; You get the idea.


    It works the same way with information and knowledge. The 'FEELING' of knowledge will lead you to the 'Thought Trend' of information necessary to accomplish your goal. As a human being, you are endowed with the ability to instinctually generate a knowledge 'FEELING' of a need, as well as the capacity to steer any given 'Thought Trend' information towards a preference of occurrence.

    You only need to get out of your own way to let this occur. Getting out of your own way means disabling your ability to respond to distractions. This is a situation where you really find out if you have a measure of control of yourself or not. The face in the mirror wont lie to you.

    If you truly understand this, you're touching the precipice of intelligence. You will have a choice of allowing yourself to fall into wisdom. If you truly understand this, there's no going back from this comprehension, because you'll find that all that's concerned, falls into this range of attractive thought trend and behavior.


    It Takes Courage To Shift

    It takes courage to fall beyond yourself. The sensational feeling of courage, seems to be the answer to attracting, and I say again, attracting information for any given purpose. It doesn't matter, whether the purpose is facing an enemy in a battle, or making a significant income through online marketing.


    The principle behind the effort is the same. The behavioral principle of courageous action is a sensed feeling, that comes from beyond mere intellect. Courage lives in the same house that instinct and prediction live, wherein' it can be called upon by conscious decision, or by an awareness of its existence.


    In the case of internet online income as alluded to, the courage to 'Ask The Right Questions', rather than the obvious ones. Questions like, 'is $100k enough for what I want to do', rather than, 'how can I generate $100k'?


    Both questions are meaningful in their own right, but there is a significantly monumental difference between them. One addresses and incorporates the condition of time, and the other doesn't. The subsequent question branches and the offspring branches, that grow from either of these questions, WILL be different.


    Because of this, the difference then geometrically expands to become, the coordinate locations within the behavioral time stream condition, of action and projected experience. You do different things because you correspondingly trend your thoughts along one path or the other. Keep in mind that generally, thought trends magnetically attract conditions of circumstance. Also keep in mind that generally, BEHAVIOR FOLLOWS THOUGHT.


    Your personal decisions regarding your choice of behavioral activity will be totally different in sequence and preparedness, towards chosen successful goals. Whatever the goal might be.
    Really - It's All About Attitude


    We are addressing advanced inner technology principle, which reflects the augmentation of an individual's mental faculty and sympathetic behavior, as regards the physics of this Mother Nature. Understanding this capability implies a knowledge of inner workings of The Actuality Behind Reality.


    This awareness essentially institutes a personal paradigm shift, in respect to the way one might view their immediate surroundings, environmental dynamics, and the way or method with which to cause events to occur, instead of just being an effect.


    You'd better read these writings again to truly comprehend the mentioned advanced inner technology and how its principles correspond to online income effort.

    What seems to mask this type of circumstance, is the misunderstanding of temporal physics that concerns periods of realization with what we consider as time. Actually, there's no such thing. There is no time. 'There's Only The Condition Of Time'. Don't get me wrong there, we do measure periods of event circumstance in occurrence, in a relative fashion, so that we can coordinate our activities with each other on a planetary scale. However, time is a creation of agreed upon perspectives regarding the consequence of earth's rotation and revolutions within the solar system.


    So, What's Important

    You wanna get rich, well, ask the questions, and discover for yourself what it is, not to be rich. Think about it, you'll know about being rich, depending on how well you do or do not ask and answer corresponding questions, that the wealthy mind knows instinct) knows to ask.     As the right questions attract the right answers, decide if you want to play the game of following through on taking action or not. I say this because, there is more to experience than just making money. There are more things much more valuable and satisfying than just making money, but you can only decide to know that if you command the clarity of 'Clear Perspective Perception'â„¢.


    You don't have to take my word for it, rather, just notice people that you think do have significant amounts of money, or least hear about, who really don't have to worry about it or be concerned about it. Money always seems to materialize for their use towards any purpose they might conjure.


    Think about this.

    It's not the money, it's the ideas that attract the thought trends which magnetizes money to them. Taking action is a residual effect to reinforce their thought trend attractions. As that statement is true, step back and review the beginning of this writing, which concerns the introduction to these advanced inner technology principles.


    End Game

    Now consider this. Depending on if, or whatever religion you might be in, or faith of, ask yourself, are you really getting the right information that the doctrine is expressing as allegory? Or, are there records of another fact, underneath the allegory, which is written in code so as to be able to traverse the ravages of the condition of time, and still convey the same potencies of emotional behavioral influence?

We can manipulate and guide thought trend information streams towards online income prosperity. HOW? By asking the right questions.


    Questions like; if I had a mentor, what would this mentor consider necessary for me to know in order to generate significant amounts of online income? Well, the question might be answered like this:

    My Student; you might want to learn about these blueprint areas of interest, specifically in the sequence I present them to you. Learning about these areas of interest in the sequence that I present them to you, will shave a number of years off of your learning curve.

    That's because you will see how these areas of interest, fluidly interact with each other. You'll see and understand this fluid dynamic, before you put its areas of interest parts into a functional operational mode.

    Really consider what I'm saying. After your homework is done, it's just a matter of following the numbers or connecting the dots. That's when it does become easy. Before you start anything, just relax and sit awhile, and think about the sequence of events that I'm suggesting should occur in terms of you digesting information about any of these areas.
