This is not the story of a million dollar program!

Actually this is probably one of the more down to earth post here but felt as long as I have been a lurker let's see if some motivation comes out of a first post on here.

Am an affiliate marketer type, this is a question I have asked many times before and over the years have dabbled here and there and reached out and played with SEO and certain "guru" platforms. Does it replace my current income, no, does it even provide "extra" to my current income, no, so why do I even bother getting into it now?

For me, and I will give a brief background on myself just so you know who I am, it is like everything else I touch it's the challenge. The challenge to learn something new, to reach that new plateau, to be able to say I learned this today, to continue to further my knowledge everyday so that It does not become stagnant.

My background is in Technology I currently hold an Exec(ish) level position with a stable company yet very stale company at times. Now to some this is the ultimate goal, to be able to hold a position that provides a yearly salaried income, good benefits, good hours have a good team of people working for me all focused around IT. So, when I tell people that this is not my end goal they seem baffled sometimes, they do not see how I would want to do anything more in my life.

THIS BAFFELS ME!!! Ironically.....

Here is my "Sad Story" and I promise myself now I will never use this to sell any products and the only reason I am mentioning it here is because I want people to realize what you can overcome with a dedication.

I was a High School drop-out, my senior year which makes it even worse, I did however gain my GED later after doing this. I knew when I did drop out I wanted to get into technology but even at that it was hard without at least some college behind me so I made the choice to start ground level. I worked technical support for an unnamed "printer company" for years fielding calls, hearing the beep in my ears day after day and answering with a script. From there I relocated to a larger city and took the same type of job but for a smaller company working in the ISP arena. I stayed late, I worked in the Operations Center when I was not on the clock, I responded to emails before others could and I offered advice to senior members even if 95% of the time it was discredited.

What did this gain me.....nothing....untill!!

The one time a Senior level member actually read one of the emails I sent and responded to me I stated that he would not have to worry about this issue I would take care of it and he should go home to his family and let me deal with it.

This is what dedication...persistency....meeting a challenge I was NOT ready to conquer got me and within 30 days of taking this on and solving the issue was my first big promotion and from there the story continues on through several companies eventually landing where I am today for almost 10 years!!

Not to top it all off with I am a single full-time father of two wonderful children as well that ultimately are my life and goal in life. Any and every task, project, future decision I make on a daily basis take them into consideration and for my ventures outside of the realm of the cubicle nation and salaried life will be for time with them FIRST!

The point of this whole diatribe is that regardless of where you are, what you are doing, how you are doing there are no easy shortcuts. Shortcuts become what I call "long cuts" in that you may have actually taken longer to accomplish the same goal as opposed to just doing it the way it should have been done in the first place.

Now this is not to say that with experience you do not gain wisdom and with wisdom comes efficiency and with efficiency comes time management and ultimately freedom for YOU to do the things you want to do when you want.

Hopefully This reaches someone, gives someone the pat on the back, a glimmer of hope some motivation however you receive it and especially to all the Fathers Out There Working for their kids and to all the moms doing the same.

I made that decision to do so 7 years ago and have never looked back since. I didn’t become successful overnight but spent YEARS learning and making mistakes.

I am passionate about what I do and absolutely love it.
