How to motivate yourself to take MASSIVE action
Recently I did an interview with Anthony Tilley. He's a successful internet marketer from the UK and I asked him this question (I thought it would be great to share it here ):
Matt Poc: How do you motivate yourself to take action and be productive?
Anthony Tilley: I've got to say, Matt, I'm probably one of the laziest people you'll ever meet - OUT of work.
I can quite happily sit around doing nothing on the weekends. My wife just sort of ends up pulling her hair out with me.
But I really don't need to motivate myself to do this.
This isn't a job for me, it's a passion. I take the kids to their school in the morning, I'm at my PC until 9:30, I stay there until I pick the one up at 3:30. I then go and sort him out with tea and biscuits, etc., doing his homework, and then I'm back on until 6 o'clock, come off the PC and then I'm back on there again at 9 o'clock at night, probably until 1 o'clock or 2 o'clock on the morning because obviously, you're talking to people in the states, so you've got to work funny hours.
But I've got to say that there's no motivation needed. I really love doing this and that's the way it needs to be for you. If you want to succeed at anything in life, you've got to have the passion, whether it be Internet marketing, whether it be sports, it doesn't matter what it is.
I am certain I am going to be a millionaire within three years, but that is just a by-product of the effort that I've put in. If I don't ever make more money than I have now, I'd be happy.
I've got a nice car, I've got a nice house, I've got nice holidays, that suits me fine. But I know because I work my backside off, probably more than I actually need to to be honest with you, I know that I will become a seven-figure marketer within three years.
That's me personally.
For your people out there listening, they've got to find, they've got to think, what is their "why?" W-H-Y, why do they do this, why do they do Internet marketing, what is it that drives them on to do it, and always keep that on your mind.
Mine personally, it was that I wanted to work for myself, I loved my job but I just didn't like working for other people, I didn't like being told what to do. And that was my real motivation.
And when I was majored under I thought, that's it, I'm not going back, and I've never looked back from there. So people need to really think, why are they doing this, what are their key motivations to this and keep those in the forefront of their minds.
Keep them on your monitor, keep them on your desk, whatever it is - a picture of a fast car, a picture of a nice house, picture of your family, whatever it is - and just remember that that's why you're doing it and I think that that should be motivation enough for you.
