Why is Success so important?

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

It's interesting. I looked at the most recently active threads earlier and a large amount of them had the word "success" in the title.

Now I truly feel success is important, but this isn't about me.

Why do you think success is so important?

Progress represents an improvement,

An improvement represents time well spent,

Time well spent is priceless.

  I couldn't have said it better myself. Success means that you finally found something that works and that's very hard in IM. Once you master those essential skills required for success in IM, you are set for life. I believe everyone's goal is to be self-sufficient which is why they strive so hard for success.

Though everyone has a different perception of what success is to them, when it's reached, we all have the same effect .

I believe (quoting earl nightingale) "success is the progressive realization of a worth while ideal"

Success is highly personal to the individual. It can not be measured by another unless the person shares his inner most desires. If one is progressing toward his ideal self, than she/he is a success. If one is becoming exactly who she/he wants to become, than he/she is a success!

Once you understand exactly what success is, than it is easy to understand why success is so important!

success is important in life because,

1. It gives you money, prosperity, and everything that you want in life.
2. It gives you a good feeling.
3. It gives you motivation to work further.
4. It is a matter of survival for the lion and the deer. The lion hunts the deer and the lion may starve or the deer may die due to the failure of either.
5. Life is nothing without success.
6. It is an illusion.

  For me, it depends on your definition of Success. I know some people equate success with wealth or possessions or power. While that's fine for those who think that way, I think it's immaterial things that truly define success.
  
  I'm a happily married father of four boys, ages 7 - 17, and enjoy working from home with my wife to provide for them. I enjoy seeing them learn and grow and achieve their goals. None of them are bad kids by any stretch, they're well mannered, well behaved and typically very positive in their outlooks. I have a wife I adore and she loves me unconditionally. We have a roof over our heads, food in the fridge and no real worries. So, for me, that's success and I have achieved it.
  
  Now, as for income and earnings, there's no such thing as "enough" money, enough security, etc. So, success in that area for me means earning and achieving what's needed to make life a little more comfortable and to pay off debts.
  
  Success is a feeling of contentment and achievement. It's not a game for me, I'm not trying to be more successful than anyone else. I also do not want for fame or recognition. Success is something I already have in the areas of life that matter. Now I just want a little more money in my bank account

Everything that happen in our lives make us feel something, it can be a good feeling or a bad one, in the case of success (and I mean success in any area of our lives) what make us feel its fulfillment. When you feel realized about yourself you have increased your potential to enjoy life.

Personally I prefer freedom. It costs far less (about 2k per week for most people - I call it "Urban Wealth") and arrives much quicker and you can do more with it. People can have freedom within a few months if they choose but "success" is intangible.

By most definitions most of us are already a success. Freedom to do what you like all day is gold. I teach this to all my clients and they all agree. I've had "financial success" a few times but freedom did not always come hand in hand. When you set your goal for freedom you can set an exact amount of weekly income it will take (I use double a normal wage as a start) to achieve.

In my experience, life changes when you're free.

  In a world where we don't know the truth of what awaits us after death we are compelled to believe that this is our one opportunity. If there is truly only one chance at anything in life, it is only natural for one to want to get the most fulfillment out of it as possible. Success is fulfillment in the fact that one can try to be the best version of themselves that they can be.

Success mean a lot of different things to different people. Some might think that fast cars and money is the measurement of success while others take success as being able to live comfortably.

Personally, as long as I can live in a condo that's fully paid and drive a decent car without any debt or financial struggle, I'll consider myself successful. My parents aren't exactly the richest people, and I've lived in the lower class for a long time that to bump myself up to the middle class would be great.

Success is probably the most important thing to people because it is having what you want and that is what drives people. Wether success is having money or family or a good job. Even though we never feel like we have it. But it is trying to feel happy and that is what matters.

  Success is Money no matter which way we put it.
  
  And money gives us more choices in life, once you've made a lot of money - you can use that to do something great for the environment, changing the healthcare system, feeding the poor, helping the less fortunate, building bigger business and so on.. anything you want to do to make your life more fulfilling.
  
  With money, power and resources, You can help many people live a better life instead of just barely taking care of your family. Giving back is very gratifying to our ego - and we all want it at some level.

Success Makes you feel like you are having progress .It makes you feel that you can do anything you set your mind to . At the end of your life you do not want to feel like you wasted your life. You want to feel like your life has some kind of meaning some kind of purpose . In other words,Success gives you meaning and fulfilment

  Success is sort of a Western Buddhist way of chasing enlightenment. Going after it keeps us grounded and away from bad habits. But then we realize it will never truely fullfill us. So then we take the next step. So success is sort of Buddhism 101.

I believe success is important because it's something to measure our hard work and ourselves against. Something to help us say, "Yeah.. I did that.'' Or, "I accomplished that." I can't speak for anyone else, but I love the satisfaction of being able to say that, and measure my success that way.

Success has nothing to do with money or material possessions. True Success is doing things that bring you joy and too others, being who you truly are, using your true potential and your inner talents and skills to help others.

Success is just a word! achieving it is important because it is about what you do in your life or business. Success is not a give right, you have to work hard to achieve it. So it's important because it shows that you can get whatever you want if only you make the effort to get it.
