Associate with the wise

A poor man that wants to become rich must take the first step which is to walk with rich people, not because of their money but because of the knowledge he can acquire from them.Associating with the wise who are the rich will help you change your thinking and if your thinking can change, every thing around you will change including your finances.

It's true! But people are quite different and you shouldn't listen to someone who you don't want to become.

I think the best thing is to look inside yourself and ask yourself who you really want to become, then spend your time with people of similar interests. I always think if I lose money or find myself cutting back on spending, I say to myself, 'OK, not thinking rich enough!'

Also, be careful who you idolize. Just because someone is rich, doesn't mean they came upon it wisely. Criminals can get rich, too.

Well its somewhat true, but not all the true.

People have all kinds of different attitudes towards different things. What you want to model is their attitude and their thinking about money.

The basic attitudes of rich people its something like:

    - More income streams
    - Ways to spend less
    - Manage well yourself and your money.

      Wise post

It does make sense though to try and associate with and emulate the types of people you would ultimately like to become. I love it when you get people who clearly hate their lives and have achieved nothing giving you advice and telling you like it's 'the only way' and is concrete fact even though they've never tried experiencing anything else.

This sounds like the secret, did you watch the movie or read the book?

It's common knowledge that if you want to improve, surround yourself with people who are better.

    Cheers

Associate with the wise is not all about getting rich but how or what you wish to become. It's true that if you wanted to become somebody, seek advice with the experienced ones

Those are good words of wisdom. It is one thing to have knowledge. But wisdom is knowing how to apply that knowledge.

Very inspiring story. I agree. I've unconsciously shifted my perspective before and it completely changed the way I felt.

It is important, in many ways...

For example, when we read a book by an expert in his craft we're benefiting from his knowledge, even if we don't know them in person.

When we are surrounded by a group of like minded people with a common set of beliefs that bring consistent results then we tend to get those same results; because of the pool of knowledge, connections and interdependence among the members of the group or tribe.

We should be critical at the same time of why this particular person is wealthy and if his or her particular experience is appliable to our own.
We should also think about how good or willing is a person teaching what they know and if they're conscious of what they do and if it is in a systematic way or for some other reason, situation or trait.

And last but no least, what value are we bringing to the table? the other person should share the same pleasure learning or enjoying from us as much as we do from them.

It has been said that "Association brings about Assimilation"

We actually become most like the people we surround ourselves with most of the time.

I have heard that in 5 years your income will be the average of your 5 closest friends.

When we connect with others in our circle, there is an energy created. Napolean Hill calls it the "mastermind"

Together, a group has the power to manifest "good" results or "bad" results.

So, yeah. You DEFINITELY want to surround and connect yourself with people that you prefer to be most like OR people who have the results that you want.

Read about some of the most successful people in the world -- in business, politics, etc. and you'll find something interesting with a large percentage of them. Most have great deal of knowledge in certain areas. In the areas in which they don't possess that knowledge, they surround themselves with people that do.

Well, very good idea. But rich people are not so generous that they would let you know their plans and tricks.
