I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology, minoring in Botany and Zoology.
I also have several Forestry grad courses under my belt.
I also have a Computer Programming degree from a now-defunct trade school [this is circa 1985].
Studied copywriting and marketing/internet marketing since 2004 with various home-study courses and mentors.

        Okay, enough already, right?

ps - A degree is not a requirement for success. Education is though. How you get it is up to you. The most significant factors to success are mindset and action with heavy emphasis on action. I know lots of poor smart people. I also have friends who barely passed high school that are millionaires. The difference - all of the millionaires took action regardless of their education.

Is it available as an ebook lol.
Anyways, a degree is not a magic lottery ticket that will guarantee you success. Regardless of the education that you hold, you can find a lot of information on this forum and on the Internet in general, a lot more than you can hope to learn in a school.

Agreed. Have a Master's yet unemployed, considered overqualified for the positions I seek. Teacher in a world that has no desire for experienced educators like me with a long list of credentials. Next. Hire the 20 y/o college grad, much easier on the budget, then speak loud and long about how much we VALUE education...blah...blah...blah...

I don't think you have to have a degree to succeed in IM. Sometimes, I feel like those who don't would do better because they don't know what they're NOT supposed to do. Going to college has a way of conditioning you for failures and otherwise.

2 years of it in England.

          1 year in the US.

In England they make you work like a dog writing 10,000 word dissertations.

In America, they give you multiple choice pop quizzes. And the education costs about 5 times more... go figure.

Amen. It's so weird how prevalent the mentality is that you need to be college educated to do anything, especially considering the cost. Spending 6 months and dropping about $1,000 I have learned more since I got laid off than I remember learning in college. This is one of the top 100 U.S. universities I'm talking about, too.

Here's a more relevant question IMHO...

-> How many people got a degree and are making more than $100,000/yr as a direct result of that degree?

-> How many don't have a degree and are making $100,000+?

Don't get me wrong, I think college can be useful in some ways, but look at all these college grads in here...looking for a way to make more money

You are right, I am looking to make more money. But I differ on your last comment - I am NOT here to look for a way to make money but to look for ways to fine tune a way I KNOW already. It is my belief that this (and other) forums help you get closer to experts, but not give you a way or two on a platter. I am sorry.

High school here - one year of Journalism at College.

Wish I hadn't wasted the year really.

The most successful person I personally know - dropped out of high school. I don't recommend it but it did pique my curiosity when he told me.

I think one problem with school is it is very limiting in certain ways. My brother had difficulties reading and writing - but he is like a prodigy when it comes to things like carpentry and mechanical stuff. That should have been nurtured.

I spent 3 years studying Aerospace Engineering but only passed 1.5 years worth of subjects. I think I knew it was time for me to leave when my physics lecturer started to bring me coffee so I wouldn't fall asleep in his lectures.

And I'm pretty sure I still hold the record for the worst mark ever at the Defence Force Academy. So a formal education isn't necessary for IM success. That said, I am very well educated. I own about 1000 books and read about 1-2 a week.

Anyway, I've been doing IM for about 3 years now and make more than engineers 20 years older than me. And I don't think they have the fun I do

It's a bit ridiculous to pull people up on spelling, do you know that many top entrepreneurs are dyslexic? Branson is one example, so it doesn't count for anything that you've pulled him up over that, just makes you look petty.

Maybe so, I just dislike it when people pull people up over their spelling in forums. Education isn't exclusive to being great at English, you'll find that many top CPAs and Business People with top degrees will have terrible English skills, that's why they delegate. All I'm saying is people will resent you if you pull them up over spelling, it's pretty demeaning.
