" The Key " The Art of Taking Deliberate Action

I'm creating this thread for all members who would like to give their advice on the art of taking action and to hopefully gain some insight into what I feel is the key to great success.

From Columbus to Obama one underlying thing unlies their greatness, From Genghis Khan to the great pioneers they all have this trait mastered.

No matter what you read remember' Action Speaks Loader Than Words.

I came to the realization a long time ago that no amount of talking, wishing , praying ,visualizing , affirmations, ect. can replace good ole fashion action.

So why is it so hard for some of us to actually do it ?

What is it that keeps us from taking action , when we atleast have a distinct advantage over many others ?


The Power of Change .

I believe that change is what keeps us in a state of stagnation.
Human beings hate change because it represents the unknown.

We know that in order to acheive our goals we have to do things in a way
that we've never done them before.

The fear of making those changes is what paralyzes us. Most of us would rather stay in our comfort zone then to step out into the unknown.

This is great because it means our survival insticts are working fine, but we don't want to simply survive, we want to thrive and make a difference.

So what is it that will cause us to take action outside of simple survival ?

What is the key that will get us off the couch and actually doing the things that will propell us to the highest rungs of society ?

I believe the true key lies in habits. Habits can absolutely change our life.
Habits are fromed when we do the same things over and over again.
When we first try to form a new habit its very hard but the more we do
it the easier it becomes.

Their are many other traits that will propell you to the upper rungs of society. You have to make a choice. Are you ready to change your life for the better ? Are you committed to your own success ?

I have to grab a snack a watch some star wars now , but you all get my drift.

Tell me what makes you take deliberate Action ? What Mativates You ?

    i like to focus on all the pain associated with not taking the action.. most people focus on the pain of taking action. BIG MISTAKE.. Took me a while to learn this one:p

    I view the comfort zones like gravity. Gravitational pull takes a fair amount of momentum to break free of our comfort zone. To me, you have to have a big enough reason/WHY or you will never break free.

    Once free, I think the best way toward success is daily action. Not every once in awhile when you feel like it, but everyday. Everyday moving one step closer to your goal.

    This is interesting.

    I have found out that we need to cultivate the habits of success - fake it until you make it.

    I wrote this article for Small Business Owners from personal experience.

    Little things like associations, communication, focus, planning etc have made much more difference in my life in the last few years than ever.

      It took me years to figure out the art of taking action. I have found that outside forces can propell you to action either by fight or flight or by shere determination. I guess when we are sick and tired of being sick and tired nothing can stop us from taking action.

      The key is to take action without any outside forces spuring you on. I love to meditate. Each day I meditate, I enter what some call my level and I program my actions each day. I've found that this has had the greatest impact on my life. Many people actually think that this is the difference between many who fail and many who succeed.

    This is something I have struggled with a long while, it has not been as easy as saying to yourself "Now I am someone who takes massive action." I know this because that is what I say to myself. But the working through it will be worth it, then I can be unlike %99 of everyone that let's the circumstances of whatever is floating by dictate their lives.
    When I'm finding it hard to do that next thing, I think to myself
    "Stop floating and swim!"

      Mental programing is something we can all learn but it takes time for us see any results. I think the key is in habits.

      We all wash our face and brush our teeth in the morning without even thinking about it. Its become second nature to us.

      The same thing exist for any muscle you want to develope you have to exercise it over and over until it becomes strong.

      They say the hardest thing to do is start. When you start something new or something unknown its very hard at first, its like pulling teeth but over time it becomes easier and easier.

      We have to be determined to do it . We either become determine because of outside forces or we can use mental programming,meditation and get the same results.

        Great.

        I find that taking small steps that gradually build up to the full behaviour of the habit that I am trying to cultivate helps too. Kind of like pacing oursleves and pushing oursleves a bit more a bit more each time and there will come a time when we are more ready to take a bigger leap.

    This is such a crucial thing many people fail to do. Some people think they need to learn everything first when the best approach is to go out and take action. Not only will you learn things quicker you'll also learn things that only real life experience can teach!
