How vital a mission and vision is to one's success

This entry isn't exactly going to be what one would call conducive, but I just had a moment of inspiration. And i believe its so important that I cannot wait but share it with all the other warriors over here.

That is on the importance of a MISSION and VISION.

If you look on my profile intro on the left side of the screen, I've been on the forum since 2009, but the lacking number of posts shows how long I've been 'sleeping'. I was excited at first, but totally burnt out, and somehow i just cant get myself excited over this method of making an income.

But now, with this mission and vision, i find myself energised, even after two years of not touching IM. That is because, i have a mission and vision that allowed me to be congruent with who i am. It becomes personal, and when it becomes personal, you become more ACCOUNTABLE to yourself.

So just a tip that i thought can be useful for anyone. Create your own MISSION and VISION today on what you want to achieve. It doesnt have to be bombastic. Just a simple one that would help you become more aligned with who you are is enough!

    Glad you are awake now. To paraphrase your great insight, nothing gets done without a big enough WHY. Without a why there is no motivation or persistence toward anything.

    It took me 3 years of reading to get my batteries on. It's been 6 months, no I have to let go of trying ot be "perfect" and just going for it.

        It took a challenge from a mentor to get me going and now I don't want to stop. My excitement and energy level are so high I couldn't even sleep last night. It's true we all need a mission and a vision to be the fire that not only keeps us going but going forward with enthusiasm.

    I found once I had my vision and mission I would still get lost, until I made a written and plan and committed to doing at least one task everyday toward my goal.

    When you have in your mind a clear picture of what you want you will gravitate there.
    From a strategical point of view is what gives meaning to actions, therefore we can create a congruent plan and adapt if we're deviating.
    Makes it way easier to make decisions.

    congrats for getting back on the track!

    a great dream/vision can get you started but to bring it to reality you need discipline. Discipline's purest form is consistent action. I'm glad you got the insight that you should get moving again, but when you get moving don't take your foot off the gas pedal. Even if you have to slow down a bit it's fine - but have some commitment. Most quit before they really give it a good effort --true of every aspect in life. (define:commitment - the ability to stay accountable to a decision when the emotions that were present when you made that decision has passed)
