What is distracting you?

As I'm getting more and more traffic to my site. I'm very enthusiastic about this and found a new distraction.

I know it's a phase, it's just that I enjoy seeing my site getting bigger.

My new distraction it's to see the statics of traffic daily from different sources, and even google has driven me traffic. I suppose I enjoy it because these are little success to me. But doing it 2 or 3 times daily it's taking me too much time and is distracting me to focus in my priorities.

Have you something distracting you like that?

I think everyone has something that distracts them. The key is to focus. Do what makes you money, and plan your distractions. (Yes I said PLAN them.) If you set aside a little time each day for distractions you can group them into that set time and it will save you loads of time in the long run.

Hey, I like the notion that you can plan to address your distractions at a set time lol. I mean if they are going to happen anyway then why not.

The notion of setting a specific time for it reminds me of something I read from a time management expert who advised chunking together task related actions. For instance, he advocated making all your calls at one time and setting up a specific amount of time for it. Then it was on to knocking out the next task related action, whatever it was and so on and so forth. Said it was an extreme time saver. Haven't quite set up anything like that yet, but would be interested to see how it went.

Excellent advice! Since I have GAD, this is something I've been working with to schedule specific hours to feel bad. Of course the same can be used for doing the things that are your distractions as well. Like checking mail, stats, etc etc!

I agree. if you do too many things and not focus on your priorities, then you will not get the maximum results.

Good advice, RHert. But for me is very difficult to group distractions in a small set. I'm checking many times e-mails, watching youtube, and checking some sport websites. What kind of impact I need to stop doing this?

I agree with RHert. Planning those youtube breaks into your lunchtime or normal breaks can go a long way into getting yourself disciplined.

*Nothing* and I mean *nothing* distracts me these days.

I had an epiphany 3 weeks ago and my direction since there has been crystal clear.

I think that eventually, we simply have to 'turn the key' in our minds and give ourselves permission to make our dreams happen. Getting to that point, though, wow....it's tough indeed.
