      Hi James,
I write my affirmation on a small card, and read it out loud first thing in the morning, and last thing at night. It is important to do this with feeling and emotion. This always works for me.

Hi Michael, So you only have 1 affirmation?

How many times do you read it aloud (at both the times of day and night) ?

How soon upon waking and how soon before bed do you do this please?

Feeling and emotion, can you explain this a little further please?

And does this work for you?

        Thank you

          Hi James,
I usually have either one affirmation or goal that I read at any given time. This is up to the individual, but I just use one with laser focus.
I read it 10 times as soon as I get up, and just as I am about to go to bed.
I try to have a 'feeling' that my goal is accomplished. I shut my eyes and see and feel how the result would be.
          I hope this makes sense.
It works for me, and also for a lot of other people I know.

            Hi Michael

Thank you, that makes alot of sense, do you affirmations have an end date?

If possible can you kindly see the other posts that I have STARTED as there is one on goal card and another that is about having affirmations with a date, both are basically the same and im highly confused about this.

This seems to stem from napoleon hill, then earl nightingale and then bob proctor, and they seem to see either to have the dated affirmation read morning and night as you are, or to have the card with you at all times and saying it during the day...this kinda doesnt make sense both with having a date but also saying in the in the conscious state.

            Thanks

              Thats a good question.
I guess it comes down to what makes you feel the best.
I have often used dates, but if for some reason you miss the date cutoff, it can bring you down, and make you suddenly stop affirming.
I have always been a fan of affirming in the present tense, and letting the universe take care of the details.

I always like affirming like it has happened, and that seems to work best for me.

Try both, and see what works.

JamesB, an affirmation is a statement you toy in your mind to keep yourself positive and focused. Maybe not the best definition, that came in mind.

I am sorry to say that affirmations are dangerous, they should only be used when you are using them in your imagination, not in "the real world".
When you do you might get some good results at the beginning, but after a while your mind will start fighting you and will go against you in a very harsh way.

It is not only me saying this, Wallace D. Wattles writes about it in the Science of Getting Rich.

There is a safe way to do this, and a very successful way, but you have to create your own universe in your imagination first.

This way your mind will not think you are trying to lie to it and then lash back at you.

Your mind has to prove that everything it believes is true, that is its' number 1 priority, and it will go against anything or anyone who tries to prove it wrong.

  • I finish what I start and do the best I can every day!!

I use this to remind myself about the true objective of what I am doing. It's simple impact is to allow me to quiet my mind when I don't want to do what I promised myself I would do.

I'm think the evidence is not complete as to the effectiveness of affirmations. It seems that some people benefit from their use more than others do. I do not know of a proper scientific study relating to this, but perhaps the variations relate to the mode of use or even differences in personality type, such as Myers-Briggs typology.

      What is the Myers-Briggs Typology?
Is there a book on this?

I am developing an empowering relationship with
the guiding force field which guides the
    development of all,
and in doing so my sense of timing and correct
    reaction as regards all
situations becomes evermore reliable and evident.

This all powerful intelligence informs me of the
    true nature of all
phenomena and the genuine course of all events.
From my core, I sense and know clearly the levels
of truth in all which concerns me, and with
completely accurate holistic perceptions I sense
the whole truth regarding the future development
of all situations... the nature of these
    perceptions is absolutely reliable.

Hence, I sense the correct action to take in all
    circumstances. This
absolute knowing is evident in all I am, as every
    action resonates dynamic potency.

Absolute attunement to this absolute source
    empowers me absolutely.

One comes to believe whatever one repeats to oneself sufficiently often, whether the statement be true or false. It comes to be dominating thought in one's mind.

      So true.
Your subconscious doesn't know any better.
The more you say it, the more you will believe it, and you will attract that which you are affirming.
