Simple question, but I believe I can help motivate a bunch of people with this by having others share their answers.

Are you happy with what you are doing right now?

What I mean to say is, if I told you that you were going to be earning just enough to eat, put a roof over your head, pay your bills, and so forth, would you be happy?

If not, what would make you happy? (exclude money all together).

What would you like to be doing right now and why are you doing that?

Don't mean to get religious on you but, once I found Christ I found happiness. No matter what happens with the economy, with the government, with life, I'm happy. My life is serene and flows along daily in peace and harmony and joy.

You can throw rocks if you want and say it's not possible but I am living proof. I don't often talk about it, hopefully it shows, because most people just can't believe it and I don't want to offend anyone.

I'm happy when I'm stretching beyond what I'm capable.
I'm happy when I play with my kids.
I'm happy when my fingers hit the keyboard and words that inspire and ignite imagination flow out as if on their own.
And yes abundantlife I'm with you. I'm happy because I know I am where God wants me to be. (I don't normally go religious either.)

My happiness ultimately stems from my family and kids. As long as they are healthy and happy, I am happy. Life can definitely throw curve balls, but that is when you figure out how to get back to the roots of life and remind yourself of what's most important.

When my basement flooded earlier this year (finished basement, kids bedrooms, my office, etc) and I discovered floating personal and valuable meaningful items all over the place in complete ruin, it was initial devastation.

We had to stay in a hotel room for over 2 weeks, and then deal with reconstruction for 4 months. I realized that at the end of the day, as long as my family was SAFE, HEALTHY, and we stayed together, that is all that really mattered. The basement was something we could repair. The items lost (at least most of the items) were replaceable. Once I got it together and realized what was most important, I found immediate happiness.

    I am honestly very happy.

I am currently travelling and have had a tough time with money and through that I have become strong, learnt how to make money on the road and most of all realised who were the people in my life that mattered the most!

I truly know that money doesn't bring happiness - it can make a situation easier or more comfortable but my true smiles and happiness comes from speaking to a loved one, random acts of kindness and the feeling I get when I have achieved something and added something else to my character!

I have always been a positive and happy person and can somehow manage to smile through the hard times but travelling has really made me see life differently and I know now what true happiness is and I am lucky that I have being able to experience it!
