Be more productive starting now

I want to share something I find very useful some time ago on the internet. I've been active reading about making money online and internet marketing since about 3 years ago. Through out all those years, there this one particular article that really give me something until now.

Most of use had spent many hours on the internet every day. Try to make money from the internet. But most of us, didn't find success easily. Sometimes, for some people, it is hard to start and they easily loss faith.

Surely if you are one of those people I'm talking about, you are wondering why is this happen.

We are online most of the hours. Therefore, we spend our time doing some research about our business, learning new thing, chatting with friends at our instant messenger, emailing, social bookmarking, twittering, and also texting on the phone. While you are supposedly working. You can't leave all these. Well, that's what you thought.

All of them are the main reasons why you are far away from success. Just be more focus, leave all of them while you are supposed to do your work. Allocate some time to do your work, like for example 2 hours and do only your work. Switch of other things. After the 2 hours, you can start use whatever you want to use and contact whoever you want to contact. And after that, continue your work again for 2 hours. And the cycle goes on.

You can be more productive day by day by doing this. Try this out and tell me what's the result.

It works for me and I too have found that if you break things up into smaller portions it becomes easier to digest.

    Nice point and very true.

I would also add the fact that Email is the biggest problem people have and the least productive way to spend your time.

How many emails do you have in your inbox?

Unsubscribe and get your life back.

I got so many emails everyday including newletters and all regarding my freelancing projects. I have unsubscribe about 70% of the newsletters and still have many. I'm in the process of unsubscribing them all right now.

  • I have to agree. I think a lot of people fail at this internet marketing thing simple because they are not very productive. When you can focus at the task at hand and complete it efficiently you become much more successful.

Yes it all comes down to having a written plan and sticking to it as best as possible. I know that there are times that things change unexpectedly but knowing what you want and writing it down will keep you on track. My mentor says work solidly for 25 minutes using a timer and then take a five minute break. You are much more productive that way.

I agree with following a written plan and having a checklist. I find for myself if I do not know exactly what I should be doing next, I will let myself wonder and head for the email. But if I can look at my todo list and see whats next it keeps me focused.

Also when I am excited about what I am doing I have less desire to look else where. So I guess doing things you like is a great productivity boost.

Yes, I really like your conclusion. May we both find more success in the future

What really helped me A LOT was turning off my smartphone notifications (or set it to silent mode). This meant no calls, no new mail notifications, no texts or any kind of interruptions.

The (smart)phone seams to have some kind of devine power over us. If you are in an important meeting and someones phone rings, they say: sorry I have to take this or they get all nervous. Even it's an unimportant call people can't resist to pickup.

So just turn it off/silent it does wonders for me

Yes, 'unplugging' as my former torts professor in law school told us was crucial to being more productive.
